Any word on TCP/IP?

Post by Scott_WAR »

We were told monday of last week, that the following week we would be informed about the possibility of TCP/IP. I was wondering if any info is available.

Actually we were waiting for Keith to get back to his office (he was back in this morning after returning from his California trip late last night). This was the week we were hoping to have something to say. Keith's meeting with a TCP programmer last week didn't give us as much new information as we hoped. At this time we can say that Keith is splitting his time this week, doing the first exploratory work on TCP/IP/LAN while also working on important second patch items and helping Gary with his Civil War work. Until he gets his feet wet, any estimates he gives are not much better than a guess. He expects to be able to give us a real estimate of what it will take by early next week and this will allow us to announce a decision and a timeframe if we go ahead. The good news at the moment for those wanting TCP is that we are investing some time working on it now. We hope to find out that the work is something we can fit into our schedule. We’ll let you know as soon as we can.
