Combat Required Unable To End Turn

Not sure if this had been reported yet; I've seen a smiliar one about an armor unit.

Soviet fleet in the Black Sea hampers the Sixth Army resupply efforts. Several air strikes from Rumania prove ineffective, and the German transport fleet is sent out regardless. Two Infantry and 15 supply reach the spearhead, with a lone Artillery unit damaged by Op-Fire.

Unable to end Phase. Combat is required in the Black Sea.

Can you click undo for that unit? Alternately are there any other units you can send in to see if they trigger the combat? I believe this issue has been reported to Joel and will be addressed in the next patch, but I'm not sure what the current work-around is, other than what I've suggested.

FYI, I believe this happens when an armor unit _that has already fired_ but still has movement exploits into an empty enemy area _and_ reveals new units (which prevents the undo).

There is no workaround yet, but this will definitely be fixed in the next patch. In your case the transport should have been sunk by the light fleet when it tried to move things over it (the transport should be shot at, not the unit/supplies). We're still not sure how we will prevent the situation from being unresolved but we'll come up with something. This is defintely not a strategy that should work if the Op fire rules were working correctly.

No the transport and all my units have spent themselves chasing Ivan.
In your case the transport should have been sunk by the light fleet when it tried to move things over it (the transport should be shot at, not the unit/supplies).

Aaaah, hahahaha, I was wondering how it was my Arty was damaged. What, they shot the crates off the deck?

Anwyay, what if the transport survives the Op-Fire? I guess you can make it auto-retreat. Alternatively don't force combat resolution.

Anyway, back to the saved game. I suppose I can commit more air assets to drill that fleet.

I've encountered a similar problem. At the beginning of germany's turn (1940 start)if you send their northern fleet out to attack the british fleet around scotland some of your retreating ships stop in the american fleet square just below it. It won't let you end the phase without withdrawing the ship manually. This lets him OP-fire and destroy your ship. I couldn't firgure out how to avoid this other then first destroying/retreating that ship first.

The problem, is when there are no unit to resolve the combat because the turn will not end and you will have to take the auto-save. [:@]

I really hope it will be set right in next patch[&o]

I had the same problem. I sent an armored unit into a Crimea-area (is it this area that's the problem???) and it wouldn't let me execute combat, nor end the turn because combat was required? I wound up having to undo my move into the territory to end the turn. Most uncool.

Looks like I'm in the right place.

I did this solo with no AI to verify.
Germans invade scotland and take it. They only have one supply there.
WA have 3 LT ships in North sea. Germans send transport into north sea. No battle. Send mucho trucks through using this method. So this IS a bug I hope?

You can trigger combat with the lone transports by sending in a stuka (or anything for that matter).

This needs fixing bad or Britian is going to hurt:)
