Production Questions

Post by lparkh »

1) Played my first game. Turned off computer controlled production for Soviets which I played. Units started appearing in my production queue which I had not selected (like paratroopers!). I double checked and definitely had computer control of produciton turned off. What is going on? Are these perhaps reinforcements? They were definitely NOT in queue when I started and I am pretty sure I didn't pick them.
2) Probably pretty obviuos question... but can I produce more units in a single region then I have factories if I have overall production sufficient for it? I notice factories for the region go -1 so I am guessing no but wanted to confirm.
Thanks,
Lin

Paratroopers must have been damaged in a battle and were sent back for repairs.

You can produce any number of units in any territory only limited by the PP (production points) of that territory and the population points of that country. That -1 in factory collum means you have spent 1 factory point more than you have available. If the -1 is in the population collum then you have 1 to many units comming 'on-line' (getting manned) at the end of the phase, so you would either put one on hold (right click it) or cancel a militia (if you are recruiting one)

Hope that helps

Thanks for the prompt reply. OK so can't build more then factories in the region (understand the more subtle PP answwer you gave me). Why did you allude to militia in particular? Is that a reference to the auto militia the soviets get?

Militia is the only unit that is manned the same turn it is ordered thus if you are in the negetives on production eliminateing the militia from the last box will not have cost you anything. If you cancel a arty for example from the last box you will lose the PP you spent last turn. You would be better off just putting the arty on hold (right click).
