Gary Grigsby's World At War gives you the chance to really run a world war. History is yours to write and things may turn out differently. The Western Allies may be conquered by Germany, or Japan may defeat China. With you at the controls, leading the fates of nations and alliances. Take command in this dynamic turn-based game and test strategies that long-past generals and world leaders could only dream of. Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

WAW Expansions

Post by lparkh »

My impression is that this game is doing well judging by number of posts/reviews etc. I'm very happy to see such a wargaming company do well. Here's a thought for their good and ours... I know that you're planning a civil war expansion (great!) but what about doing what the Axis and Allies franchise is doing and posting theater specific expansions off the same engine (with some additional chrome of couse). For example WAW: Pacific and WAW: Europe. Presumably these could be preduced relatively quickly and you would have a market already interested. It might bring yet more nice quick $$ to the 2By3 warchest :-)
Gamers out there think it's a good idea from a gaming perspective?
Any interest from 2By3? (if you'd not thought of and you like the idea may be send me a copy if you ever do it ;-)
Just a business and gaming thought, for what it's worth.
Obviously IMHO,

I doubt they can milk this with repetitive sequels. I also want them to do well, so we can get future great games from them, but I think they would be better to delve into other areas rather than simply cut the map up.

perhaps a feudal japanese era game after the civil war era?
