Where is the serial number?

Post by sturmer25 »

I recently had my hardrive go the way of the dinosaur and in reinstalling apps was forced to recall
WaW needs a key. (I bought it from EB games). It says for retail its on the CD (nope). I looked in the manual and cant
find it either. I still have the box and advertising materials.

Anyone know where the damn key was put cause I cant find it!

thanks

Does anyone know if the serial was on the cd case? Either a white paper one or or jewel case and I have so many games stacked up around me I can remember what was in my box!

Im pulling my hair out and I recall when I installed the game it wasnt so obvious to me, or I just lost it twice now...

Thanks.

If you registered the game, you can also retrieve the serial number from the member's area.

Hi all. I just got my copy of World at War in the mail today. Problem is........ I bought it off Ebay. The guy selling it said it was the English version (it isn't, it is Ukranian) and when I try to install the patch it asks for a CD key. I AM NOT ASKING FOR ANYONE'S CD KEY! I am just trying to find out if I got a pirated copy or if there is any way to get a CD Key from Matrix. Since this game never asked for a CD Key when I was installing it, I am beginning to assume I have a wierd or pirated copy here. I just found this site when looking for a patch. I am a huge Axis and Allies (boardgame) fan and I saw this game on EBay and thought I would give it a whirl. I see now that the game is pretty new and I should have been more cautious when I saw the low price on Ebay. Anyway, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

There is no Ukrainian version, your copy is pirated. The only way to get a valid CD key is to buy the game from our online store or one of the many retailers carrying the boxed copy. The only legal version is in English right now, though localized versions will be appearing down the line as the official European release moves forward.

Has Matrix contacted Ebay about this seller? He has about 20 copies of the game for sale, and they don't sound like the ones Matrix is selling:

This auction is for Gary Grigsby's World at War (PC Game, import retail version). Games are imported from Thailand, Italy, Ukraine, Japan and have 2 selection choices for game play language: English and language of the origin. Game is brand new and comes in original CD case with English cover, factory sealed (box and printed manual are not included).

I don't know. I mentioned it to them via PM. I also emailed the seller (before my first post on here) asking for my CD Key. I knew the answer even before he got back with me so I just went ahead and came here for help. Today he finally replied with:

Sorry, this is import software...
No CD key. And NO online play. I seid about it in my description for this game.
But this game has FULL English version.
Just install game following my instructions.

Sigh. Sounds like "Sabra Price is Right" from Saturday Night Live.
