I seem to lose LB strategic missions at about a one to three rate for those city attacks...
We will see today.. but I believe that soon no Jap Industry or resources will exist in an area around PI.. streatching into coastall NE China... this will be a real BITCH to the JAps trying to supply there troops, as all the supplies taken from the home Islands are that much less there ... needed to defend the final rush to glory

the flyboys fly the bombs fall, resources are destroyed.. anouther round of b29 attacks planned.. iwo maybe get some attention.. but all those 60k troops look daunting!
we are moving troops back from Clark into MAnilla.. something like 15 armore and 18 artillery.. and 24 infantry .. could I evena have that much? Well over 11k in assualt points.. I do not think this attacking group will have too much trouble as they are 5 time bigger than the group that was formerly attacinh manilla nd had reduced fort level to a 3

Also all those Oz troops are coming up from Kendari.. I definately am getting operation springboard readdy.. anyone wnat to guess where we will spring from PI too?

B29 REFyuse to fly night missions.. probe ordered ase whole group stands down!

The troops have nearly all made it from Clark to Manilla.. time for some knock down attacks!

Still several class A units in Bankok.. time to move them into rang for operation springboard..
and no Tom, the invasion of JApan is not springboard.. too bad though.. I am content to grind away for now..

I expect total victory in PI soon and this will release MANY units.. including tac air and Ships to support springboard..

anyone else????

remember Springboard is a seperate attack from the one being launched out of the Marcus Island army against?????

I think China looks like an interesting place.. I have moved much supply and if the game had actually given me back those early losses as it was intended, I would be in a good counter attack pssition now..

Those strong units still are lacking the support groups.. strange that they wold even take loses.. I took two dileberate attacks and brought Manilla under 100k troops and from level 4 to a level 2 fort..
resting and then attacking again

We will see in realtime tomorrow how the next round goes.. if they take MAnilla to a level1 then I will press the attack regardleess... If they take Manilla.. Several units will immediately be pulled to start the next planning group for leapfrog.. nearly 300k jap troops now reported southwest of HK.. maybe as high as 400k.. how many points would their loss bring? at 10 men per sqaud and 1 point per 6 squads.. that is wgat 7k in points apx? Minus losses.... Very linteresting... I also so some neat little Island by Korea wit ha large airbase [:D]
Iwo gets pounded again.. can there be any doube those troops on MArcus will hit there? But I am so paranoid about the success of the invasion... we will see.. I am just worried about 60k in enemy troops... could be a real blood letting

Taiwan/ Formosa? Gives you a great base for bombing China & Japan and an invasion of either, bypassing Okinawa?

MANILLA FALLS
News services of the allied forces:
Today brave forces captured the heart of MAnilla.. and though this did not stop fighting in the city, the airfields and ports where all taken intact before enemy demolitions could be set off/// four MArine Divisions supported by many artillery, armor and engenier units all took part in this short week long offensive... after a days rest, the troops will destroy the remaining JAps and prepaair for operation Springboard...

Notes: several thosand points swing the Allies way in MAnilla through troops and base points..

Hats off to Z for hanging in there during all this. It must be tough to be beat up every turn! But then again, he does still have a big lead on points. Like everyone else, I'm really curious to see what might happen if Freeboy invades the Home Islands or uses nukes or both. But I'm also curious whether Z can maintain his lead on points.

I wonder what will happen soon as the inevatable begins, Lots of troops on each side moving now.... Manilla keeps falling in numbers.. my troops look good even after the attack..
Iwo area army on the move??? where will they attack? Iwo? Bonin ? other?
Will Z sortie out to stop this madness, remmber he has all lot of ca bb ships left still
Including the twins! I hope so[&o]
I just acannot get my 29's to fly night missions!... someday
nowthey are attacking Iwo, well theyare supposed too[X(]
Not much else to report... springboard and leapfrog going now.. troops out of oz in Kendari being reattached to the reserve army that was rolled into the PI large group.. this army now has somewhere along the llines of 20k assualt...

FINALLY I getsome 29's to fly longer than14 range missions...
Iwo attacked by massive 400 plus naval air .. bombed by BB's .. I keep hoping and prying for some luck.. and what do we see in Bataan, a level 1 fort..[:D]
Manills at 450k to 80k only gave me a 10-1 attack so they are not folding immmediately...
I tried to sneek some troops into a hex near HK, to help cut off the retreat, and they got bonked...
Now the coast of China looks like the Atlantic wall, everywhere there are massive troops...
this was my pre invasion screenie.. before PI took so long.. now springboard the invasion of China is temperaroly?? perm? on hold

So what do I do in awek or soo with .5 million troops in PI.. ok more like 650k? they are as a rule in good shape...? I was hoping to crush some nuts in HK area.. but that looks problematic now

Well, that little Island by PI..Batan? is going to be a forward observation post..
Iwo ist is on the Iwo area fleet, I really felt that even though Bonin was a sure thing, And I could bomd Iwo from there, that Iwo after three months of naval raids and surface bombards was as good as s I could make it.. I have multiple infantry divisions spearheaded by the US marine 6th.. and 6 Armor Batallions. several other units.. and the force hq's... screaning destroyers and cruisers.. battleships for bombard.. MAssive air cover... and now running B29's from both MArcus and PI againt Iwo...
This will either be my big break, or the nail in my "points" coffin[X(]
