Gold PBEM: Japan

Winter '43

We can call this turn Japan Attacks....

I've been carefully hoarding my supply for the big moment. I also researched both my naval air bombardment and naval torpedo attack up 1 level each. It paid off in spades in Hawaii...

Here is the picture after the battle:

3 battleships and 2 destroyers now sit at the bottom of the harbor...

I also struck out into the SRA ( Southern Resource Area ).

The following areas fell under Japanese control:

Luzon
Siam
Malaya
Sumatra
Sarawak
Java

Now, the hard part comes. Finishing the repair of all the resources and holding on for all its worth. lol

Su '43

The Japanese high command is just giddy with delight. The Pacific theater is just one big target rich environment!!!

Of course, running around all over the board, does have its drawbacks. Last turn the emperor decided to acquire some vacation land in Northern Australia. This turn we expanded our holdings there as well as made our first steps into Burma ( The emperor has this thing about jungles, you know ).

The largest move on the part of Japan was our attack into the SU. Our spies ( well not really spies ) told us that for some inexplicable reason most of the Soviet troops in Vlad decided to leave. We decided to step in and take their place....[;)]

The only thing currently worrying the empire is the drain all of this is having on our supply. We just can't build up anything that even resembles a cushion...

Oh well, maybe next turn we won't invade anything else... NOT!!!

I think you are going to find the environment a bit more "target rich" than is comfortable over teh next free turns. We raid your SLOCs and take out a light fleet and some transports.

OF course retreating two or more away it costs you the big supply bucks to come after me... Hope you built a lot transports! your going ta need a lot of replacements the next few turns...

I can't believe you let my planeless UK CV survive! THanks! That was kind of you!

By 43 they get another built, I think they get a 6th one eventually if they don't cancel it.

[:D] Your carriers got away again Paul. I thought I had a reverse Midway on my hands. Alas, it was not to be. You need to stock back up on Carrier air though... [:'(]

Because you can't take Hawaii and the SRA at the same time. In my opinion taking and repairing the resources in the SRA is way more important than destroying ALL of the ships at Pearl.

i take the main land of USA.even if i don't take those place but the SRA,i still recommand take the harbor.the ship you destoried means more production points than what you gain from fully focus on taking the SRA.and i can do both at the same time, seems have no problem[:D]

Playing against the computer you can take the USA but that isn't going to happen against a human player.

Hawaii, to me, is not worth the effort. Again, against a human opponent it is way too easy for the US to isolate any units you put there. At that point they will either be bypassed by US forces or dealt with whenever sufficient strength can be applied. Granted, it is a major pain for the US player, but it is hardly a game winning strategy for Japan.

Yes, I could do that too if I edited the unit combat capabilities table. [;)]

Now granted, you might have actually conquered the US as Germany in 42 through some AI exploit everyone else is unaware of, but I think its just as likely that you modified the combat values of all of the WA units so battleships would lose to your transports.

No way you do that against a human player. It's just not going to happen.

I'll play you a game and you can prove me wrong. In fact I will not build any additional troops in the US until you unfreeze them.

Okay, after a brief intermission this game is back on track...

The Japanese decided to consolidate their gains this turn. I repaired a few more resources ( my production should be around 25 next turn ). I built some supply and put a number of land units into the queue.

It's time to hunker down and wait for the US to come to me. [;)]

Of course if the US sticks its head out too far I will chop it off... I will give them their "Denmark" of the Pacific. [:D][:D]
