COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

22/06/41

At first dawn of June 22nd 1941, forces of the Greater German Reich, Italy, Rumania, Hungary, Slovakia and Finland crossed the borders of the Soviet Union on a front stretching from Finland to the Black Sea. While the Luftwaffe pulverised enemy airfields destroying thousands of planes, Panzer spearheads broke through the enemy front at multiple points. Already the cities of Vilna, Bialystok, Brest-Litovsk, Lvov and Tarnopol have been liberated. Countless enemy formations have been enveloped and disintegrated in the first week of combat. Enemy casualties in the first week alone approach 575.000.

The Führer was convinced by his adviser, the sage Yogi Yohan of the wisdom of this course of action. It is their joint opinion that Stalin and his Military commander, Marshal of the Soviet Union Harry were preparing an attack upon the Reich and decided to forestall this vile aggression. The Führer is confident that the Wehrmacht can defeat the Bolshevist hordes quickly and that our boys will be home for Christmas.

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

July 6th, 1941

In its second week, operation Barbarossa continues according to plan with many more Soviet Armies surrounded and destroyed and Soviet casualties mounting. The cities of Riga, Kaunas, Daugavpils, Minsk and Odessa have fallen, the latter city after a lightning strike across the Prut and the Dnjestr by the newly formed 16th PzCorps.

The Red Air Force was withdrawn from the front to bases Southeast of Moscow and did not appear over the battlefield. The Abwehr discovered this redeployment, and Luftwaffe Ju-88 bombers launched several very successful unescorted deep strikes that destroyed over 1800 Soviet planes on the ground.

Axis/Soviet
Squads: 510 / 16365
AFVs: 130 / 4447

Government of Finland annouces limited war objectives.

In a radio speech Finnish President Ryti declared that Finlands war aims were the recovery of areas lost to the USSR during the Winter War and the addition of ethnic Finnish areas in the Karelian SSR. No designs exist on other territories of the USSR.

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

July 13th, 1941

After the third week of war, Soviet forces are running for the east as fast as they can, while our victorious troops pursue them relentlessly. Although the enemy seems intent on standing on the Dnepr, Pskov, Vitebsk, Mogilev, Kiev and Uman have fallen after a token defence. Our infantry has finally overrun the last stragglers of the frontier armies, bringing the total enemy casualties to well over a million

The Reggia Aeronautica made Il Duce proud this week, as Italian BR.20 long-range bombers attacked airfields in the vicinity of Baku, destroying some 200 enemy aircraft.

Losses to date:
Axis/ Soviet
Squads 675/ 21796
AFVs 154/ 4452

German fashist troops threaten our country in a very serios way. We need help from our allies. We hope that British and American people will assist us in our fight against to resist the invasion of our loved homeland.

As it shows that our airforce is so much inferior to the Luftwaffe, I have ordered that our pilots have to ram german bombers! I have orderd that no cases of cowardiness are tolerated. If we see a cowrad he will be shot. His family too.
Many of our airgroups have reached their new airbases behind the ural. There they can refit and train.
And when they are needed we have a new and powerfull airforce that will put the Luftwaffe on the ground.

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

July 20th, 1941

The Wehrmacht has crossed the Dniepr! The first Soviet stand since June 22nd ends in disaster!

Temporarily under the command of Field Marshall Kesselring, the 3rd and 48th PanzerKorps of the 1st Panzergruppe hurled themselves against the Soviet 50th Army directly east of Kiev. The Russians fought tenaciously and destroyed dozens of tanks from well-prepared positions, but in the end they could not stand against the combined might of our Panzers and the Luftwaffe and were thrown back. The 3rd Panzerkorps pushed through the breach and wheeled south, trapping the Soviet 65th Army against the river and forcing its surrender. Many hundred enemy tanks were destroyed or captured. Army Group South now has a secure bridgehead east of Kiev.

The Soviets seem to have been determined to hold the Dniepr line, so much so that the Red Air force had assigned several squadrons in support, but Luftwaffe strikes left hundreds of their planes burning on airfields near Kharkov and Kursk before the battle even begun.

In other parts of the front, small Soviet contingents have been surrounded and destroyed, and Smolensk has fallen to Guderian's 2nd Panzergruppe. Everywhere our forces rush east at breakneck speed, meeting little or no opposition.

German troops sighted near Leningrad!
I want to speak to the people of Leningrad:
Your will to resist the germans will have a serios impact for whole russia. Make every house a bunker, every street a minefiled, every tunnel a deathtrap for german soldiers. Get yourself armed with whatever you find and kill a german soldier. If you do this you will be a hero of the nation. Long live Leningrad, long live Russia.
Our revenge will come.

Massive air strikes on Moscow!

Heinkel He-111 bombers of the 4th and 53rd KampfGeschwader attacked and severely damaged the industrial infrastructure of Moscow this week. A shroud of black smoke from burning factory buildings hangs over the Soviet capital.

The Luftwaffe anti-airbase campaign continues, with 460 Soviet planes destroyed this week. Reichmarshall Goering is said to be more than usually pleased with himself.

On the ground, the advance continues, with Poltava, Tallin and Dneprpopetrovsk falling to our forces this week. Two weak Soviet armies were destroyed in the Dnepr bend and another one was dispatched north of Lake Peipus. Otherwise the Soviet forces continue their general retreat.

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

1941/10/08

Germany rejoices at the news of three great victories on the eastern front during this week.

In Army Group North (Field Marshall Ritter Von Leeb), the 4th Panzergruppe under General Hoth has dealt the Soviet enemy a heavy blow by the capture of Tikhvin and the destruction of Red Army Baltic Front Headquarters. General Von Mansteins 56th Panzerkorps peformed a daring ouflanking maneuver of the 18th Army , overran the weak 25th Army in the marshes southeast of Tikhvin and captured the city. Meanwhile the remainder of the 4th Panzergruppe pushed the enemy 18th Army back from its positions on the east bank of the Volkov river and OUR 18th army pushed back the enemy 4th army southwest of Leningrad.

In the sector of Army Group Centre (Field Marshall Fedor Von Bock), General Guderian’s 2nd Panzergruppe has shattered the enemy 15th and 29th Armies north of Bryansk and punched a wide hole in the Soviet fortified line in front of Moscow.

And finally, the Luftwaffe claims over 1.000 Soviet planes destroyed in the last week, mostly in the AG North sector. This brings the total of destroyed Soviet planes to well over 10.000. Reichmarshall Goering is throwing a toga party for Luftwaffe High Command at Karinehall to celebrate this.

COMMUNIQUÉ FROM OKW

THE USSR SURRENDERS!

Stunned by the fall of Tikhvin and the consequent cutting of all supply to the forces defending Leningrad, the USSR leadership has asked Germany for terms. A peace agreement has been concluded, whereby the Greater German Reich will hold the Baltic States, Bielorussia, the Ucraine and Crimea as protectorates. Finland and Romania will recover all the lands taken from them by the USSR in 1940. Finland will also recieve the Karelian SSR.

Furthermore, all Soviet military industry will be dismantled and shipped to Germany and a huge war indemnity will be payed in oil.
