WaW newbie, wargaming vet looking for first PBEM game

Post by CharonJr »

With all of 4 WaW games under my belt vs. the AI I am strating to look for the real thing now ;)

And while I am still a noob at WaW (and surely still have much to learn about the depth of this game) I would consider myself a wargaming vet (20+ years here).

I would prefer to play with advanced supply (fully manual - only tried this once, but the added depth was great) and fog of war activated.

I think I will be able to play about 1 turn each day (maybe a bit more during the weekend).

With 3 games as Axis (once with Japan, twice without) and 1 as WA till now I do not really care about the side.

Email games are very fun! I'm new and got a couple games cooking. I wanna get a 3rd game on the boil if possible and I like advanced aupply on with no auto supply. I find auto supply on is actually harder cause trucks get autosent to uncommitted sectors during crisis time.

I'm an idiot though cause I like to have no end date and no autovictory checked but I will play games if opponents need to use the clock to bail them out of fortress europe. So either way is fine its just a preferance.

Let me know if you want to get a game cooking. I am newbie and playing allies/Russia/China for the very first time in another game and I only one whole German game for single player practice so the Rodent has long ears and short teeth. I kinduv want to play allies yet again but either side is fine.

Hiya,

sounds good to me, but does the Axis even have a realistic chance to win unless by autovictory due to 70 ressources or hanging on to enough land by '46 ?

So basically this would be a game without any AI countries left ? One takes Axis/Japan while the other takes WA/Russia/China ?

And neither having played WaW PBEM before nor really having read the part of the manual about PBEM I am wondering if the Axis player has to set up the game ?

I am also looking for a game. I have not played my mail yet. I have only played the game a few times. However I would like to get my teeth into a good juicy game! I am also available for about one turn a day maybe less. I have quite some years under my sash in wargames.

I like RodentDung's idea for no autovictory. Either way is fine though.

I would prefer to play the Axis. Either japan or Germany.[:)]

I am interested; if the two previous posters are as well we could have a two Allies vs. two Axis players game? China to go to the Russian player?

My e-mail is dfz18AThotmailDOTcom

I would prefer the standard game-end options (1946, autovictory on).

Hmm, a 4 player game sounds good to me, too.

Personally I would prefer Germany or Western Allies here.

Would the rest be fine with "manual" supply ?

Okay how about this:

CharonJr: WAllies
Reverend Zombie: Russia & china
GuruNakNak: Japan
RodentDung: Germany

Advanced supply on.
Fog of war on.
Autosupply off.

This way we can have one minister, if you will, on each side to bless the fatalities after big battles.

My email is TurnipPosey@hotmail.com

I think Germany is first to go so I'll have to fire it up. Please acknowledge whether this is a go or not and how Charon and um... GuruNakNak want autovictory/enddate options set to so we can decide by majority.

And Guru, please tell us your email address.

Ok with me (what was the other supply option again, "area supply" ? I prefer both to be off, thus fully "manual" supply).

I think we should play with enddate and auto victory, otherwise the Axis has the deck stacked too heavily against them IMO (at least economy-wise, the players can make all the difference ;) ).

Fully manual supply works for me, too.

Alright, I'll leave the handicap endings on. I don't know what it takes for Axis to get 70 IC but I suppose there's no harm in finding out. I just need GuruNakNak's email and I'll open hostilities. He's a funny guy, asking for our emails and not submitting his own. [;)]

Hello Mike,

sounds good to me, even though I am a bit afraid of facing another WaW-Pro, but hey, I am here to learn ;)

Okay, if mike doesn't mind to be japan in place of the guru we can get it on according to the previous parameters. I'll cook up the first move of the Germans right now and ferry on over to mike to get things rolling.

I sent mike the first save yesterday just after my last post. Never heard anything from him. Maybe he got turned off cause most of my ships got hit already from bad rolling luck.

I'll send it again right now but with just a short summary of my gameplan cause its bedtime now. Please respond to my email so I don't stay awake all night worrying whether you got it [:D]... well not quite but just to be sure we get started.
