PBEM Cheating

Post by Barbarigo »

Will the game have any programming feature able to limit/prevent cheating in PBEM?
I mean things like pre-generated dice rolls or possibility to have a person acting as a "game master"...

Barbarigo:

We have an option to allow the host to be the Game Master and he/she would have the power to eliminate someone from the game, use the AI to play a turn for someone who is late in getting a turn in or send out some game sync files.

The combat portion has been changed to be totally interactive so nobody could replay the combat without their opponent knowing.

We also have some other anti-tampering checks that for obvious reasons, won't elaborate on ;-)

Thank you

Thank you

Thanks Marshall.

I have been checking the forum for several months and I appreciate the effort you're putting in to give us a great game. It's difficult to please people when porting to PC one of the best boardgames ever made. Pls don't rush it and give us a classic. I'll wait what it takes and buy the game.

Regards,

Well done! Can you add the ability for players to CHANGE their passwords. And for the GM to reset passwords to make it easier to bring in replacement players?

I dont think there are going to be passwords for a pbem game, just email addresses and one of the players will host the game in his computer, being able to drop/add players.

I dont understand why you want passwords, it makes no sense to me....

Will the person hosting be allowed to play in the game as well?

He wants passwords so that an opponent can't just easily load another person's turn file as his own, and automaticaly see all the hidden stats. What is the point of FoW when it can be so easily by-passed.

Nelson stood on deck and observed as the last of the Spanish fleets sank below the waves…

OK, it makes sense now [:D]
So there must be some kind of security that even the player who hosts the game can not see the other players password.

BTW, yes, the hoster of the game is also a player, he is the one who starts the game, giving each country his player name, email and bid.
