As good as Axis and Allies?

Gary Grigsby's World At War gives you the chance to really run a world war. History is yours to write and things may turn out differently. The Western Allies may be conquered by Germany, or Japan may defeat China. With you at the controls, leading the fates of nations and alliances. Take command in this dynamic turn-based game and test strategies that long-past generals and world leaders could only dream of. Now anything is possible in this new strategic offering from Matrix Games and 2 by 3 Games.

As good as Axis and Allies?

Post by Sabian »

Hey fellow gamers. Just wanted to say hi and I like many of you have been waiting for the release of this game. I am/was an avid A&A gamer like I guess a lot of you guys are. I am one of the "Older" crowd and loved A&A when it first came out. Anyways, going to get GGWAW Friday and wanted to know if this game met everyone's expectations. Thanks, and I hope to join your Ranks this weekend.[:)]

Welcome.

This game far exceeded my expectations. [8D] This goes beyond Axis and Allies with far more depth. You will not regret your purchase. I suggest reading the AAR's in this forum for examples of how the game plays.

Awesome game. Great buy. Avid A&A player, and I love this game just as much as the board game. It takes a few games to get use to but its lots of fun otherwise.

Also a huge fan of axis and allies. This game surpasses it in many ways in my view.

IMHO GGWAW is definitely better than A&A.
