Did you allow the managed directx components to install?

Are you sure you let it run the DirectX setup (said Yes) so that it would install Managed DirectX as required? If you have any doubts, go to the /redist sub-folder and double click on the mdxredist.msi file. Let me know if that helps.

Very disturbing to hear these reports after our testing, which definitely made sure the MDx installation worked fine. I'll look this over tonight.

Anyone having these problems, please post your Operating System and version and ideally a DxDiag file please.

- Erik

I am getting the exact same error. I have attached my dxdiag. I have tried the two suggested fixes posted.

Hi Erik
Just an update really, i have just reinstalled windows xp on my computer and first game i installed was Julius Caesar, i made sure i said yes to directx update then tried to play game and it still came up with that error message when i clicked on the play button, it was only when i manually installed the .msi file that it ran. There is definately something wrong with the directx update included in the Julius Caesar program.
