Allied Martin 139 Day Air attack twice on Japanese TF near Singkawang
-Japanese Ships take a beating:
MSW Kyo Maru #5, 2 Bomb hits, on fire, heavy damage

AK Shinmei Maru, 1 Bomb hits, on fire
PG Kogyoku Maru, 5 Bomb hits, on fire, heavy damage

Allied B-17E Fortress Day Air attack on TF, near Baker Island
AP Hokuriku Maru, 5 Bomb hits, on fire, heavy damage
AP Hakusan Maru, 2 Bomb hits, on fire, heavy damage
These babies came from Canton Island. I guess that I should have set those B-17's to Naval Search and not Naval Attack, becuase now I've revealed their presence. (I do love the B-17 for searching.) Then again, Mogami probably already knew they were there from the searching. In any event, I'm willing to bet Canton is now a target on the radar screen for June/July/August.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Japanese Ground attack Siador
Since there is no one home, they are simply rounding up the local trouser trout.
Japanese assault odds: 11 to 1 (the Saidorian women balk at the really bad pick-up lines)
Japanese forces CAPTURE Siador!!!

RE: May 1942
I just read all of the AAR and enjoyed it.
Mogami, at some point in this AAR you described an emphasis on casualties and low risk taking. I myself subscribe to that same way of thinking, but I don’t think it makes you not suited to command the Japanese, as you stated. Initial aggressiveness and preservation of force I would think are the priorities. Your blade might not be as dense in the latter years, but it can remain sharp through proper force management. I think your doctrine is sound.
I would like to ask though why you split up your carrier force and permitted just two carriers to be exposed like that. Was this carelessness or were you taking a risk?
Also, I’m assuming you are using all your assault divisions in the Philippine Islands and Malaya, with the exception of a reserve which I’m sure you have. If it’s ok to say, how much force did you send between the two (as far as divisions)? I’m all about the Jap’s now, and I’m trying to figure out how to split up my divisions between those two places in order to conquer them as fast as possible.
If it’s also ok to say Mogami, I’m curious as to what changes you’ve made with regards to plane production, armaments, etc. Are you producing all historical aircraft or are you changing production to just the best models in each category?
As far as the AAR, I’m so glad you don’t force me to scroll past endless combat reports Admiral DadMan. And if it’s at all possible, I’d love to see screenshots if you’ve the time or desire.
Good luck to you both.

That's because I insist on battering myself upon that very blade, as you'll see in June '42.Mogami, at some point in this AAR you described an emphasis on casualties and low risk taking. Yeah, I hate that crap too. It takes a few minutes to cut out the extra minutae, but it's worth it. We'll see what we can do about a screen shot. The game has just moved to July 42, so digging up a screen shot before then is problematic. As far as the AAR, I’m so glad you don’t force me to scroll past endless combat reports Admiral DadMan.
