Moving the troops is gettingto be problematic in China.. I thought movement of supplied troops on a rail was supposed to be quick!
Canton is the nothing attack, I keep movingunits in though, and eventually I will hit it hard..

decided managing 30 plus flattops was enough, so we now have two death stars cruising for blood.. I think that I want to knock down some bases, so we may use the combo cv and lba to hit some innland airfields.. darned Zeta has tons of air left!.. I shot 600 planes down in two raids!
I am sure that as I get my land units .. those 20k assault points that where in PI and in SEA, I will over run Z in coastal china.. I also am planning anouther invasion or three...
troops just made it to Swatow, sorry about misspelling above... that is the fullcrum point of attack.. Z will defend with his dug in 150k 's work of defenders, but I do not believe they are well supplied.. and they are being shelld by sea and air dailly, and many of those troops where retreating emlements from the japs sea forces.. today was the 27th of December.. Our short term goals will be establishing a large airbase along coastal China.. and from there anew invasion of either an island.. or Korea or further up the coastline...
all the while integrating our new b29 groups into the air war.. dec and jan double the total groups from 6 to twelve 29's.. along with 24 are making an impact. I remain weary of Z's still potent surfase forces.. he has the yamatos...and I think another four BB's, multiple CA and CL's.. dd's too....
they really are vulnerable out of port, but could sortie against a home island invasion unless hit first.

I was surprised that I get only another 51 group, like whats up with that??? two air groups and yet I have 500 in the pools , that is nuts!

Wow 300 jap planes for 135 P-38's, those are pretty good odds for late 1944 for any Japanese player, he must of been looking after his air crews brilliantly.

Looks like you will need to switch your B-29's to Airfield attack, you wont get as many points as you would bombing his cities but you need to destroy his planes, espically now his industry is beginning to fail, he wont be able to replace the losses on 200 plane b29 raids.

Very interesting AAR, i cant wait to get to the later stages of the game, i just hope my opponents dont quit [:D]

[:D]He has consistently pulled air back and trained all war.. so his pilots are BETTER than mine! well maybe the replacemnts now are not!!!
He has taken losses, but fighters are staging from areas that my heavies can reach but no air cover.. one thing I do not want is a "black Thursday" in JApan... he easily could clober my heavies unescorted at this point in the war... the points deficit is just under 2k, nothing of late , 1 Supream allied DS now on station looking for its prey, 2nd Supreaam DS forming up [:D]
I know there are ways to attack the home Islands, but lacking experience I am really making some misstakes.. China, hopefully will not be one of those

My troops levels continue to rise, the first probing forces, around 2000 tanks reached the outskirts of Sowtow..
NAgaski was bombed the DS's are looking for targets close in land.. I though Z may kami them...

1945 is now here, and the first attack of the new year fittingly is the long awaited apush into Sowtow, still hundreds of thousands of troops yet to reach it , the decision to attack and further depleat the forces there was made easily.. I t is key to take a new port and airbbase along the coast .. the two ds split up, one headed East back toward Tokyop after a successfull Kami raid net bagged two tankers trailering the first ds, inbound toward Shanghi
the deficit is now well under 2k, and I think we will push the strategidc points to the place where they will be over the top to even outthe score... and then we will be doing a threee phase programe to win the war..

A.. destroy all resources.. and hi left
B.. Destroy all air units, in the air or on the ground
C, find and ssink Z's capital ships
D, burn the cities

Z will know that his good pilots now will be the last generation of there kind, once his air force ceases to compete with yours he wont hesitate to turn them all to Kami, probably save them up for the "last hurrah" in the battle for Japan, which he knows will take place.

He will throw everything he has at you once it becomes apparent when and where you are going to land, he obviously wont worry too much about having to many aircraft at certain bases due to lack of aviation support, there making a one way journey. And his remaining navy will be sortied.

Youll need a lot of prep and weakening of the remaining branches of the Japanese armed forces. Before considering an invasion.

I ahve been bombing troops in China that thied to get behind my lines and such. Also I take planes out once I know I do not have command. Like a big raid with over 300 P38's or so and 500 heavies it is time to move out. Also I try to do no stupid attack like say on a carrier DS with F4U, no sense to waste good pilots on the uber plane even if my are flying georges or franks.

Well after this last turn I have come to think that Kami's are the most useless thing in the game. I wonder how the Japanese ever got a hit with them when any planes were around. I will let Freeboy post the results, but only less than 5 planes even got to make an attack. I wish the Allied fan boys would see this, but I am sure they will have some great reason why this is happing. I hope to have these results in my Allied games, but to a point I do not want them. So I guess it is time regroup and figure a new course of attack. I am think if I should replace loses or not. If I don't it means less planes lost and less points for freeboy, but I really don't want to do that to him becasue the japanese had the warrior thinking.

I knew about the fighter ones, but what others where there besides OKHA's. I have no used any fighters or fighter bombers as Kami's. Yes we are under 1.5.

Zeta, the patch notes mention not only the fighter fix you describe, but also this more vague fix:

13) A plethora of bugs plagued the Kamikaze code. Fixed.

I have no clue what this means, but I'm curious whether you've seen any improvement since 1.5. As Freeboy says, who knows if this is an "OOB" fix that requires a restart.
