MY 19th BG attacked one of his surface groups off Belitung Island. No hits but IM sure it was an attention getter.

He brought the big hammer against some transports I had anchored off of Koepang. Sinking 5 of them. Now I know better there will be no more large transport groups supply that island.

My 5th BG struck Kendari...causing a bit of damage to the runway.

West Coast

No major concerns here...his submarine activity has been low in the area.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

Not a lot happening. Hoping that my battered flattops make it in the next week. I have stepped up ASW patrols...if I was him Id have the piranna out in force knowning my flattops are enroute.

Canton Island

Hornet under the command of 1st Lt Peck (a jarhead no doubt) is still steaming southwest at hoping to make Xargun’s escape more entertaining. Xarg knows she is coming.

Lexington (14 sys 13 float) is steaming towards pearl. I have her operating as a ASW platform now, hoping to plow any of Xarg's boats into the sea before the descend upon Sara and Enterprise.

Saratoga Not happy news. 28 Sys but 59 float. She will sink before she reaches pearl harbor. I can only move her about 120 miles a day...for her the war is about over.

Enterprise (70 sys, 47 float, 15 fires) Is basically dead in the water and Damage control is not stopping the list. Like Sara I'd love to get her to Pearl, but its not happening. She is moving one hex a day and at the rate of the water seepage she will sink in about 6 days.

Yorktown (99 sys 37 float 10 fires) limped into Canton and was sunk. Made that whole scuttling thing a non-issue.

Today doesnt look as good as the post battle day. I will lose 3 out of 4 carriers...of that I have little doubt. As far as I can tell he still hasnt lost any. Not good. He is slowly steaming west to avoid me and Hornet. He knows Im coming (he has told me as much) and believes that I have at least one other carrier in support. I am coming...but it is just Hornet.

Alaska

No news.

China

He continues to pound Lanchow.

Burma

I sit and wait. I have begun some preplanning for a major attack on Rangoon. I fear him going around me and invading India. To stem this sometime in the next week or so I will be moving units out of Mandalay and Akyab south to go on the offensive. I'd like to wait until may to begin the assault. But its time to move.

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

I am continuing to move the 5th and 19th BGs to Burma through here bombing as they go. Probably will take a week or more to get both groups all in one place again.

Australia

Fuel is no longer a problem. Two big tanker groups bearing about 300K each have arrived in Sydney in the last few days.

PM

Airfield should be complete at Gili soon. I will move some Beaufighters here.

Noumea

Secure

PI

Just bits and pieces left.

Solomon Islands

Plenty of airpower. I could use more ground troops. A level 2 airfield that will go to level 3 very soon

Carrier Group One.

Lexington and Enterprise

See above.

Carrier Group Two

Saratoga

See above.

Carrier Group Three

Hornet

Moving southwest in an attempt to catch his retiring carriers.

Force A

Hermes and Indomintable

Moving Northwest towards Lunga

Force B

Formidible

Is now located in Karachi

The RAF out of Akyab staged a night bombing of Rangoon doing a bit of damage at the airfield...and destroying a small amount of both fighters and bombers.

Fighters out of Port Moresby shot up one of his APs trying to flee Lae (I believe part of yesterday's attack)

The air war over China continues to be brutal has he pounds my ground positions and I do the same in some spots.

In the afternoon round the 5th BG hit Palembang ineffectively.

Remember that surface group that pounded my transport off Nukufetau Island. For some reason they were still sitting there and Hornet's Air Group found them. 3 500 lb hits on Mutsu (BB) and 2 on Aoba left a big smile on my face.

Over the skies of Chungking the American 24th FG (A) (P-40s) cleared out a bunch of zeros that Xargun had covering his ground troops. The 24th knocked down at least 5 Zeros for just 2 losses of the bombers they were escorting.

My RAAF out of Port Moresby struck Finschafen again today puting several bombs into an AP Xargun has anchored there.

They also put bombs into a supply vessal anchored at Lae.

The Dutch bombed a troop ship that was was landing forces at Macassar where they were based.

Time for them to fly away from that area.

West Coast

Long Beach is now in Pearl Harbor area.

I dispatched more submarines for mining operations. I have done this the entire game as I feel like so incompetant are the torpedos that mines are more effective. I believe they have done quite a bit of damage to Xargun's merchant fleet based on some of his comments.

My two big troop task forces are now bound for San Diego where they will move the 2nd Marine division to Pearl.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach is about 3 days out.

2 of the 3 Battleships that were operating in the Canton area are about a day out. The third, New Mexico, is limping in a day behind them.

Canton Island

Hornet Forced to turn away from Xargun's Surface group to refuel. I will refuel her tomorrow and turn her west again. I doubt seriously if I can bring Xargun's carriers to battle...but maybe I will stumble on that surface group I hurt.

Lexington (16 sys 6 float) is combat operational and flying ASW missions ahead of Saratoga and Enterprise.

Saratoga 30 Sys but 60 float. I had to refuel her today. She is still taking on water...not happy. I still dont think she will see Pearl.

Enterprise (70 sys, 44 float,) Is The float damaging is slowly coming down. This entire group will refuel. I believe Enterprise will reach pearl as long as I can avoid his submarines.

I have a bit of shipping headed towards Canton. Parts of the 25th and Americal. The next few weeks will be spent regrowing those combat units for possible action.

Alaska

No news.

China

He continues to pound Lanchow.

Burma

The 2nd UK and 7th Armored are almost at Mandalay. When they arrive I intend to move 3 Indian, I Chinese and the British infantry division as well as several brigades of armor and supporing artillery for an assault on Rangoon. He has about 41-thousand troops there...I bet most of them are support types. I also bet he is planning an assault on Ceylon or India by sea. Maybe I can keep him interested in Burma :)

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

I am continuing to move the 5th and 19th BGs to Burma through here bombing as they go. Moved my dutch air out of Macassar, since he landed troops.

I have about 3-thousand Allied troops on the western end of Timor. I'd dearly love to hold this. I need to get more troops here pronto.

Australia

I am sending rebuilt sections of the 27th and 22nd Australian marching to Derby. At some point I hope to airlift them to Timor.

PM

I have moved the first squad of Beaufighters in.

We continue to trade blows in the air over China. He is slowly wearing my air forces out here. THere is little I can do but delay delay delay.

He hit Mandalay with Sallys today. Not really happy since I have been using the base to transfer in B17s. He only killed one, but...

My RAAF caught two more APs off Lae and put bombs into them.

Over the skies of Pagan...Hurricanes go up...meet Zeros...Hurricanes go down...not pretty.

Its been awhile but the Long Beach Task Group caught a sub north of Hawaii and sank her.

My opening phase of the air war over Rangoon didnt start well as he dropped 9 CW21s escorting the British bombers over the target...I did get 7 runway hits.

The follow up strike by 100 Liberators and B17s smashed the airfield caused over 500 casualties and wrecked 20 of his aircraft on the ground.

Hudsons out of Batvia strick the Oil Industry at Palembang causing 9 Oil hits.

RAAF birds struck another AP group of Finshcafen hitting one with torpedoes and a second with bombs.

The air war rages over Burma as for a second day my British Mediums start off with runs at the airfield in Rangoon achieving 11 runway hits and causing 100 ground casualties. Flying forts and Blens out fo Mandalay followed up with an unescorted strike costing me four bombers but doing another 20 runway hits and 200 more dead Xargunites. The third strike of the morning involved Liberators and Fortresses out of India duing an additional 32 Runway hits and killing another 300 Xargunites.

Another day another attack by my Australians out of PM putting two bombs into a retreating AP.

I caught a sub south of Pearl no doubt searching for my carriers....that one doesnt have to worry about the search anymore.

3000 Japanese artillary guns pounded Lanchow today. Steel against flesh...flesh will give.

West Coast

The 161st RCT and the 47th FG (P-39s) has embarked and is bound for Pearl Harbor.

The USS Idaho and escorts is bound for Pearl Harbor.

I have ordered the 2nd Marine Division to begin planning for the invasion of Tarawa. I expect the transports ships to arrive and embark the Marines with in a couple of days. At that point they will head to Canton to await the arrival of warships.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach has taken on Marine SBDs and is now going sub hunting...I know Xargun has deployed what's left of his battered assets trying to get to my limping carriers...let's see how many I can bag.

Hornet I have decided that Hornet has done what she could do and is now headed back to Pearl. I need to refit her airgroups and prep for my May operations.

Lexington (14 sys ) Continues to fly ASW missions ahead of Enterprise and Saratoga.

Saratoga 30 Sys but 69 float. Still 3 days out of Pearl. And taking on water. I do not think she will see port.

Enterprise (78 sys, 63 float,) Suddenly the flooding damage has jumped up! Who knows what's going on. All I know is she is a solid seven days out of Pearl and will sink in the next 3 or 4 if I cant get the flooding to slow down. I had been operating her at full speed, but have dropped back to mission thinking that might be affecting the flooding.

Canton Island

Well the Xargun threat has been at least temporarily nullified. I have more then enough troops to protect Canton. Id like to get all the Americal fragments together on Baker. I will be sending escorted supply ships there soon (depending on carrier availabilty). I do not think Xargun will send more carriers into the region in the near term.

Baker is also somewhat secure from minor incursions. He can still take it with a determined effort. I tend to doubt that he will with him currently swallowing up DEI.

I have shifted all my B 17s out of the region (I was using them for naval/asw search) and they will be headed for Port Moresby to be joined by B 25s.

Alaska

No news.

Sea of Japan

A new region. Probably temporary. I have flood the area with submarines hoping to pick of Xargun's Carriers as they try to close to the imperial homeland

China

Okay. I simply must do something here. He is pounding Lanchow. I have transfered 37 Chinese bombers to Lanchow and they will strike his airbase at Kangchung. I have also transfered fighters of the 24th FG C (P-40s) to fly escort and CAP missions over Langchow. Tommorrow I will transfer a 2nd fighter group to Sining to fly Long Range CAP over Langchow. I need to not cede the skies over this grand city to him so easily. No doubt he will shift his air missions from ground strikes against my troops to strikes against the airfield there. If he does that Ill shift all my airpower to Sining and continue. Id rather have his bombers pounding my airfields...then my troops.

Burma

My heavy bomber groups probably have one more day of morale left in them before Im going to have to rest them. I have caused about 25 percent damage to his runway which is a good thing. I doubt if I will see a lot of fighter sweeps from him in the term which was the goal of this. Once I decide to call this off I may shift one of my B 17 groups to China for some Lanchow bombing.

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

I am continuing to move the 5th and 19th BGs to Burma through here bombing as they go. I have decided to move the 6th Australian division to Timor. They will be taking the long way. When they arrive in area I will give the as much of a fighter screen as possible. I may move a few destroyers into the region to do their dance with Xargun's submarines.

Australia

I am sending rebuilt sections of the 27th and 22nd Australian marching to Derby. At some point I hope to airlift them to Timor.

PM

I have begun to fly elements of the 1st Australian Brigade into Salumua south of Lae. If he lets me get the entire Brigade in I will attack Lae with them.

Noumea

Secure

PI

Just bits and pieces left.

Solomon Islands

A level 3 airfield, plenty of supply and no Japanese anywhere near the place. What's not to like. The place needs more combat troops. They will come, but there are none free in the area so they will have to come all the way from pearl

I need to make Xargun work harder. China is lost, but I will continue fight him hard there. I intend to take Tarawa from him. I doubt that he can defend Tarawa and take DEI and take China. Despite his bounty of supplies. Once I get my carriers squared away (I still believe I will lose Saratoga and Enterprise) I will have 2.5 American Carriers to support an attack against Tarawa. I am considering shifting the Royal Navy to the Canton Island area to support the attack. The problem is...once I do, he will know they arent at home...and I can guarantee the naval invasion of Ceylon and or India. Decisions decisions.

Apparently Xargun has tired of my daily pasting of Rangoon. A weak raid of bettys and nell's took a poke at Dacca overnight.

Escorted by P40s Chinese SB 2s hit the Japanese airbase at Kungchang do little damage, but hopefully reminding Xargun that I do still have an air force in China. He will have to deal with it before he pound my ground troops from the air.

I also got 8 kills when he sent dive bombers in to Lanchow unescorted. 1st Lt Rea of the 24th C got five in one day!

Librators and Fortress (100 of them)hit Rangoon for a 3rd day. Hopefully this serious of attacks has broken his airpower in Burma for a while.

LOL as Im thinking that he makes another fighter sweep over Pagen knocking down more Hurricanes..but taking at least 2 losses.

My raid over Palembang has forced him to move zeros there...excellant.

Ouch speaking of raids...49 Nells pounded Koepang today. He did minimal damage to the airfield...but it was a surprise.

My hudsons are getting mighty good at putting bombs into his ships north of Port Moresby.

In Lanchow his engineers managed to reduce the forts to level 8. It cost him 8000 troops to do that.

Caught another sub south of Pearl seeking my carriers...depth charged her to davy jones' locker.

The HMS Trusty caught and sank a troop ship in the straits of malacca.

Another day of bombing over Rangoon put another 40 hits into the airfield there thanks to Allied bombers.

My AAF guys in Lanchow picked up 5 more kills today in various air action over that embattled city.

West Coast

The 161st RCT and the 47th FG (P-39s)continues for Pearl Harbor.

The USS Idaho and escorts continues for Pearl.

Midway

Midway remains solid.

Pearl Harbor

USS Long Beach Is attacking subs south of Pearl as an ASW platform.

Hornet I changed my mind and sent hornet south west towards Funafuti Island. Intel was reporting a destroyer and a AP there. No sign of them today though. I will turn her north again to cover landings at Baker with supplies and troops.

Lexington (14 sys ) Continues to fly ASW missions ahead of Enterprise and Saratoga.

Saratoga 31 Sys but 77 float. Continues to inch towards Pearl Harbor...she has lots speed and remains 3 days out of the harbor...doesnt look good.

Enterprise (78 sys, 72 float,) The flooding has slowed a bit..but not enough...will not make pearl as I believe at her speed she is still 5 days out and is adding 2 points of flood damage a day.

I am moving more members of the Americal division to Baker...I will use Hornet to cover them as they get closer to the island.

Alaska

Sea of Japan

A new region. Probably temporary. I have flood the area with submarines hoping to pick of Xargun's Carriers as they try to close to the imperial homeland

China

Nothing new. I continue to attack his units with my Chinese bombers in Lanchow. I have decided to loan china command all my heavies currently pounding Rangoon now that I consider that airfield out of commission for now and once they get their morale up.

Burma

My heavies are all going to withdraw out of Burma back to Ceylon for R and R. I think Rangoon's airbase is out of commission for now. I will revisit it from time to time to help remind him why its a bad idea to consolidate all that air there.

Malaya

Is his.

DEI

It appears he has troops landing at the center of Timor Island. Im sending my Dutch torpedo planes and Australian Beaufighters in to try and break up the landing.

Australia

Nothing new.

PM

Sending the B-25s of the 41st bomb group to hit Lae. I curiously have seen almost no action in this theatre. Makes me very worried something big is coming. I also have no idea where any of his aircraft carriers are currently.

I struck Lae with 30 mitchell bombers causing 40 deaths among Xargun's troops.

My Allied bombers out of Koepang attacked a small task group off Timor putting a torpedo into one of Xargun's destroyers.

The 24th FG (c) dropped 6 Xargunite plays over Sining this morning.

He struck the Taung Gyi airfield hard today. I had just moved some Buffalos in there. Guess he didnt like that.

He sent a big Nell mission (59 plus) south and bombed the Port of Broome. Hit no shipping and did 1 damage.

One of his submarines torpedoed Hobart south of Pearl.

USS Enterprise rolled over and sank south of Pearl Harbor...not unexpected.

I have a small supply convoy headed into Baker. I plan to follow that up with troops as soon as I can get some transports bearing the Americal division in the right area. I have a transport group unloading supplies at Canton now that I will send to Palmya to pick them up.

The 11th BG (B-17s) Struck Rabaul and caused 11 Runway hits. No doubt that will get a bomber response from Xargun.

He used his Bettys to pound my little raiding party at Gasmata (delivered by submarine yesterday)...he probably dropped more bombs there then troops he was trying to bomb.

He has moved the 4th Mixed Regiment into Lae, easily outnumber the Australian troops I have next to him (thanks to recon). I will likely withdraw them.

Not really much to report in today's episode. A lot of air war over China and Burma....the day was as quiet considering there is a war on.

That being said...i continue to gear up for my Limited offensive in Burma. I intend to move infantry forward out of Mandalay and start towards Rangoon. I am also moving units up out of Akyab. About two days before the units are due to arrive I will slide my heavies (about 200 B-17s from several big groups) into Burma and level Rangoon. A couple of days of that should have Xarguns forces shocked and I will hit them from the ground. I hope the threat of the loss of Rangoon will force him to take some pressure off of China (moving air units) and DEI (moving ground units).

We will see. I intend to kick this off in about 10 days depending on how quickly the British units I have tabbed for this operation can get into position.

Looks like his next target will be Guadalcanal. I have air units there...but a sustained carrier strike will level the airfield there. Should be fun..nice to know he is coming...just a matter of how much time I have to get Hornet and the RN there.
