Main Play screen

Post by MarshallEllis »

Hey guys:

Just a little teaser here. You're looking at the main play screen and an explanation of each window...

Apologize that it's a little fuzzy but I had to shrink it a bit.

Stop dangling a cold beer in front of a thisty guy!...[:)] Is there a rough idea (3rd Quarter, 4th Quarter 200? ect.) where you would like to see the game finished?

I like the minimap, gives the big picture. If you click on a spot on the minimap, will it take you to that spot?

I don't like how the LOG file reads from bottom to top, my native language is English so it's a little hard to read.......... since we usually read from top to bottom and left to right.

It's hard to judge the screenshot, since I know it will look so much better sitting in my own monitor....... but it certainly makes me hungry for more.

EDIT: ALSO, I must say that I still don't like the counters, they are just ugly. What's wrong with the EiA Original Counters? Too Cool?

Is it possible to see the fletches and spires under the corp markers on the map? Can we click and drag to move other countries corp markers (assuming when we unclick they will automatically move back) so we can see underneath them, or what?

I think in the next month and a half, we may have a more detailed timeline of a release date! Obviously, this is if we don't run into any major design / bug issues!

So... Are we still on that same timeline marshall? Or is it still 1.5 months until you can set a release date?[&o]
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not.

You can always mod them if you want.

We're trying to stay on that timeline BUT our PBEM testing has been somewhat a bit slower than anticipated. We're trying to streamline this process to speed things up!

Thank you

Usually when I look at Page that has three paragraphs and I have already read two of them, I don't start reading the paragraph at the top, I start reading the one at the bottom, hence top to bottom. The way they have it now, it updates from bottom to top, NOT top to bottom. That is what I meant.

Are the Counters going to be modable? I take it that's a YES from Pippin's answer.

You can't move the counters away but that is where the area info box (just left of the strategic minimap) comes into play. In this box you can see enlarged picture of the currently selected area and that is Damascus in this case. Here you will see a city icon and forage value that might othervise be covered by corps counters. You toggle this image on and off and when it is off in that same box icons of all units present in the area are shown.

Everything is looking great Marshall. I will probably Mod the Counters (or download somebody elses anyways). Just can't wait for this game to come out.

I'd rather have the new information at the very top. Different strokes I guess.

One question : is Syria a Turkish free state? Cause nowhere in the Nation info it's showing.

A remark : i agree that the counters are ugly but enjoy that they may be modded.

A second question : may those stipes on the map, as ugly as the counters, showing control be also modded or replaced by flags?

Finally, everything else look really great.[8D]
