At this juncture the game turns over to the use of v1.5. My new PBEM opponent is Joe Wilkerson. I've no idea how he plays or what he'll come up with for the Japanese. Time will tell that.

I've noticed that night bombing has been severely curtailed. On 27 June 1942, the first turn with Joe, the Allies had 47 B-17s over Rabaul at 6,000 feet and did not record a single hit on anything. I hope that's an aberation.

A Japanese submarine was reported attacked off the southern tip of Papua New Guinea yesterday. Naval sources said the enemy boat was discovered a little over 100 miles southwest of Milne Bay. There was no word regarding casualties.[/font]

I'm glad you resurfaced. I was looking for you the other day when the discussion on the board turned round Allied ASW technology. I can list the specifics of that but I can't address the nuts and bolts as I don't have the training. I thought you'd be the perfect guy for the job.

I'm not sure Joe has the thread yet or not. It's only been three turns or so. I've offered to stand down if and when he wishes so that he can get his act together, but so far he hasn't taken me up on that. (Actually, a couple of my bases were obliged to stand down because of your bombardments, now that I think of it. [8D])
