I ever wondered what the different types of aircraft do in WIR:
0: Fighter, clear
1: Fighter-Bomber, clear
2: Dive-Bomber
3: Tank-Hunter
4: Level-Bomber, clear
5: Air-Transport, clear

But what do 2,3 in comparion with a levelbomber? Are there any advantages/disadvantages in WIR for them?

There is a difference. Level Bombers have only a small chance of killing tanks when attacking, whereas the other two have a much better chance. I am not sure about details on this, but there is the advantage against tanks for the two of some amount and it appears fairly significant.

A wild guess would be that dive-bombers have a greater chance to hurt tanks with bombs, while tank-killers do it with cannons.

Speaking of which, shouldn't the P-39, P-63 and Yak-9T be tank killers rather than fighter-bombers? At least the Soviets used them that way...
