Cd on demand?

Post by mlees »

Sorry if this has already been covered...

Is CD on demand available? (I went to buy the game, but there wasn't any bubble/choice for this.)

If not, is there any plans to make that available?

No cd on demand. If you want a cd you need to purchase it from a retailer. (I believe it was part of their distribution agreement.)

Well, none of the game store around me (e.g., Game Stop, Circuit City) have it so guess I'm SOL. I'd get the game if they'd offer the retail box over the net. Shame.

Can't you have someone like EB Games deliver it to you? Or there's always the digital download, no need for the disk.

but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming "WOW, what a ride!"

If you're in the US or Canada there are a number of retailers that should be carrying the game. In my area (San Diego), I've seen it in at least 3 chains (EBs, CompUSA and Fry's) and it is probably in others. Some EB's keep them in the back of the store and you have to ask (I think Game Stops may do this as well). As far as I know, both chains stock the games and order a copy for you if you ask. You can also buy the game mail order from many sources like EBgames.com or amazon.com or any number of others that you can find on the net. Some offer at such discounts that even after paying for shipping it's as cheap or cheaper than the stores. There is no shortage of ways to buy the full boxed set with manual.

Now if you are buying in Europe, you may be more limited, although I've seen several reports of companies that will ship to Europe. We are just beginning the localization process to German, Italian and Spanish (and hopefully other languages in the future as I'd really like to see Russian, Japanese and Chinese players in the future) so expect to see the game show up in stores in Europe (including England) in several months. Eventually you'll be able to play opponents via PBEM (and TCP/IP when we finish that patch) using one language, while your opponents are playing the same game version using different languages. This should further increase the community. I can't wait for the first game played where each of the 5 players is playing in their native language (German, Japanese, Russian, Chinese and English). It's a goal I would like us to reach.
All understanding comes after the fact.

NWS seems to have a good rep here. I've ordered from the UK, so I'll know for myself in a week or so. As you're in the US, I think it's cheaper than download as well [:)].

Thanks for the heads up. I'd never purchased a game from EB online, but found W@W with no problem and should have it in my grubby hands within a week.

Thanks for the info.

I am an old fashioned kind of guy. I like to have hard copies of the software I purchase, just so I can reload it when (NOT if) my hard drive gives up the ghost.
