Battles in Italy Info

Post by scout1 »

SSG has posted some info and screenshots for the upcoming release of Battles in Italy.
Amongst other changes, they have significantly increased the map size of the game.
This should lead to some very interesting player scenarios of all theatres.

Just out of curiosity, why hasn't BII gotten a spot in the forum for an upcoming release ?

There is a Battles in Italy forum over on the Run5/SSG website.. Im sure Matrix will add their own very shortly.

And yes - the increased map size has already led to some interesting custom scenario developments.. I have one in the works at the moment.. its going to take me a little while longer - but needless to say it uses the maximum map size that is possible under the engine.
Isn't that bizarre?

Yep, a forum should be showing up soon, but you should always be checking in at the SSG site. It's invaluable for a player of this series.

Too true.. as Erik says.. the games in this series is unique that it has both a thriving community here at the Publishers website and also over at the developers website (SSG).. so just be mindful of that when you are looking for info or want a question answered. Also remember that just because one of the forums isnt active doesnt mean that the other one isnt running hot. In my view people should book mark both this and the SSG one and visit them both regularly.

Hi Rob,

I was hoping that Ardennes Offensive could be ported over to take advantage of the new and/or improved engine developed for BII. I like the idea of a possible unit surrender, the improved defensive AI etc. etc.
After reading OTTO 20000's post below regarding updating the KP scenario I'd have to say I'd like that too. Just your typical greedy consumer talking.................. more, MORE [:D][:D]
Regards,

Rob.

This is the one great selling point of HTTR. Even though I will pay a fee to get it, my HTTR game will be updated to the new features added in COTA. Besides the gameplay this is my second favorite feature.

BIN is a different game engine to KP.

And therefore it s not possiblwe to write a patch for KP to add in the BIN features.

But it is possible to use the BIN ( or BII ) editor to make a KP scenario. All the unit details are in KP.
