it´s a p-61 b1 Serial No. 42-39405 from the 548th nfs

the spook collided with another p-61 (Midnite Madness) in April of 1945, writing them both off in the process.

It is The P61 flown by Lt Melvin Bode and radar operator Lt Avery Miller..548th NFS while it was based at Iwo Jima...This was the largest American fighter built in WW2 and the 1st to be purpose-built as a radar night fighter..

It is, C-46.


.............

At least I think it is the tail and chunky fuslage seam to look like a C 46 at anyrate[:)]

The P-61 part was easy for shure but it is a cool pick, well at least I like it, they cant all be hard, sometimes their just good pictures[:)]
