Jeff Shara's New Book

I'm a big fan of his, I loved his recent War for Independence series ( 2 books ) and of course he and his fathers Civil War series...

He just came out with To the Last Man - historical fiction with a look at the US during the First World War from the Layfayette Escadrille (SP??) to the Marines at Buella Wood... Gives a good account of WWI in the Air, on the Ground, and from the commanders point of view ( Pershing )...

Anyway, why you are getting ready for this game, here's another good book to pick up and get "in the mood"!

Im reading it at the moment.

Its OK.

Im enjoying it so far but its not as good as I'd thought it would be.

The first few pages put me off.

He had British soldiers wearing tin hats in 1915 and instaed of saying Battalion he used Regiment. This put me off a little due to the lack of historical accuracy.

However its a good book just not great. The memiors I read have more action and a far better read than the book.

After putting it down Ive resarted it and have nearly finished.

All I can say is its a OK book. Its so America won the War it borders on ridiculous. Im reading it 'cos its about WW1 but I wouldnt recommend it to anyone.

The action is good the flag waving is very very annoying.
