RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
On the right, the German cavalry continues to charge so I play a health card on Titus Balventius, my lose loss of a stand. My legionnaires kill over 3000 Germans through pilums and melee defense. Eckbert, Gunther and Alois are eliminated while Adalbert is killed. The only bad news is I lose 400 men to hidden enemy archers.

Excellent stuff, thanks for continuing to post this. As a side note, the new update due out next week should crank up the AI difficulty another notch to give players of your skill a more challenging fight. [8D]

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
Forgot to take a snapshot for turn 6.
On the left, I turn Julius Caesar around to face the rear. An enemy cavalry unit was headed that way and prepare for their return. Depending on the situation, I either order my men to throw pilums, defend or charge. They eliminate Lothar, Adalbert, Herman and kill Gerlach. Use my elite cavalry to charge the weakened enemy cavalry. Play rally on Marcus Crassus' cavalry and it works as he routs his opponent.

Forgot to take a snapshot again. [:(] Turn 7.
Since I have cleared out a great deal of the German infantry, some of their archers are exposed. Even though they have been ineffective through most of the battle, I would rather kill them now when I have the chance. Otherwise, I continue my selective attacks. I do order my men to charge full strength units even if they are at warrior level experience. It is better to wait for them to break upon my shields and then counter-attack. My men kill 1200 archers for a total of 4000 German losses this turn.

On the right, I have to withdrawal the mauled Titus as my other cavalry units maneuver for a better position. My infantry continues to press the enemy towards the river. The enemy has some veteran infantry in reserve but they remain immobile. The German archers kill more friendlies than my men.

I am just happy Matrix provides upload space for my pictures.
RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
My cavalry finally gets the advantage but they only kill 500 Germans while I lose 300 men. The infantry mostly presses the attack against the weakened German right flank. Five enemy units are destroyed and another leader falls. The only trouble spot is Pubius Crassus who is surrounded and pushed back with some losses.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
Except for the one break in my line caused by German cavalry, my men are nearing two objectives. My cavalry are also pushing back the enemy. Bastian, are Florian eliminated. Aradt surrenders. Isidor and Friedrich are killed.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
The German will is near the breaking point. Play last health card on Gaius Pollio and rally on Lucius Roscius before he is charged. It does work as he is eliminated anyway. My first total loss of a unit. I wipe out four more enemy units and kill anther leader.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
I recruit every unit because from the battle description, I will need every man I can find. Buy three more rally cards and three more health cards.

The objective seems simple but I doubt it will be.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
The fort spans the length of the map. I deploy my Scorpions in the towers, my cavalry on both flanks of my infantry that I placed all along the center facing South. As the turn plays out, enemy units appear in my front and in my rear. Legios X, VIII and XI are order to move to the opposite side of fort to meet the enemy. A Scorpion draws first blood, killing 400 Gaullic archers.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
The Scorpions inflict more casualties. Have to shift the right flank cavalry to meet an enemy attack against an undefended part of the fortifications.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
I forgot to mention two things. One, inside the fort is two levels above the surrounding terrain. Two, my cavalry is stuck inside since they cannot cross walls like infantry can. Oops, might have been better if they were placed outside. There are two small attacks coming from the rear. They continued to be harrassed by the Scorpions will my troops redeploy to meet them. A larger attack is headed right for a section of the wall defended by Legio XII.

Barbarians at the walls. Pilums and Scorpions prove their worth again as 6200 more of the enemy fall. I lose 300 men, 200 of them to friendly fire.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
The two minor assaults have been stopped while the other is being met by Legios VII and XII. Over 5000 more enemy troops are cut down by pilums, Scorpions and melee. I think it would be a good idea to move Legio X to block the gate.

RE: I came, I saw, I got stabbed
A new attack appears from the West. I order the nearby cavalry to defend the walls and change the orders for Legio X to do the same. Overall, 3300 enemies die, and Cingetorix and Tasgetius are eliminated.
