An update to CHS was recently released. You can get it at Spooky's. Work continues on aircraft artwork and updates will be posted when available (artwork can be updated without restarting games). Additional scenario work is planned but not in the short term.

First, we want the existing release to get some heavy use before moding any further. Second, the CHS team has spent several months dedicated to the project and it's time for a "real life" break. Lastly, we have completed most of the originally planned adjustments. There are a number of large items pending, like complete reworks of the Chinese and Russian OOBs. And of course the continual process of adusting and correcting.

There is one known major problem having do to with the Russian Activation in September, 1945. The mods done to airgroups in CHS raised an incompatability with Russian Activation and some of the CHS airgroups will be damaged by the executable on September 1, 1945. A complete rework of airgroups is required and that will not be done soon - so be sure to win or lose by September 1, 1945.

For now, start a game, get some of the new artwork, post results and problems - and enjoy.

I took a look at the CHS aircraft database, specifically the Bearcat. It's set to have four .50 cals; didn't it have four 20mm cannons?

I have been gone for a while.
Can someone give me a quick rundown on what all this mod does?

The F8F-1 Bearcat had 4 50-Cal MG. They were replaced post war by 20mm in the F8F-1B.

CHS is a major rework of Scenario 15 for increased historical accuracy and more detail. It uses Andrew Brown's map with the new Middle East/Panama extensions. There are several hours worth of reading on the content on the forum - enjoy!
