Getting close to Lightnings.....

Post by Andy Mac »

Twi weeks to go and I get long range fighters....

I am now starting to think about my offensive.

I have many options for a late 42 offensive

Centpac -> Wake
SOPAC -> Solomons or Tarawa
SWPAC/AUS -> Northern Aus
SEAC - > Naval Rangoon / Land Mandalay

Need to make a decison in next week or so so I can position forces for the fight

Hi, When you take a base even an empty base you destroy the fort levels there. Too capture a base you need 2-1 plus fort levels and the forts are destroyed.

I'm not retreating, I'm attacking in a different direction!

RE: Getting close to Lightnings.....

Post by Andy Mac »

OK I have lost a few days combat returns but not much has been happening.

The key decision is upon me ....where do I go next.

I have decided on an initial offensive.

Codename Warlock

Objective Andaman Islands date to be launched 1st November 1942

Forces are still being identified and gathered for the strike and it will be conducted under Long Range Lightning Cap provided by the 6th Fighter Squadron and supported by RN Cruisers.

My intent is to land 4th USMC Regt as spearhead followed by one heavy Division plus supporting engineers and light artillary (Mountain Gun Regts).

A FT Recon force from the Kendari Commando Bn will land 2 days in advance of the strike to gauge strength prior to committing.

I will feint in the SOPAC with the USN to draw his carriers out 1st and get him focussed down that way.

In addition I will be actively reconning Solomons and reinforcing Port Moresby over the next few turns.

I have decided that I will leave the IJA in northern Australia to wither on the vine.

Andy
