Need help with campaign

Post by donkuchi19 »

I get through the first few scenerios in the RFTS Campaign. I colonize Barnard's star. (going up the whole 1st level). I defeat the lizards. (and research level 2 and everything is maxed in production) I make peace with the lizards and defeat 20 hive ships (usually max out research and most of production). I hold off the hive with the Lizards for over 25 turns. Then the next level, I cannot win. My research seems so far behind at this point. I am fighting dreadnaughts and super dreadnaughts with cruisers and destroyers. I can almost get my first dreadnaught by the time I am facing the hive. I have close to a hundred cruisers and destroyers by this time. I cannot produce enough dreadnaughts to keep up though. Also, my dreadnaughts are outclassed by the hive's super dreadnaughts. I cannot find a way to win. Any help?

You're in scenario 5, right?

There is a walkthru here.

The 1st paragraph may be enough to get you going:

In order to win this scenario you must inflict 250 points of casualties on the Hive. Each Hive destroyer you eliminate is worth one point, each cruiser three points, each dreadnought six points and each super dreadnought 12 points. Destroying or invading a Hive colony is worth 50 points.
