Victory Level Question

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

Victory Level Question

Post by RUPD3658 »

I have now read the manaul and still can't find this. I recall that 2:1 used to be a marginal victory and 8:1 was a decisive but I have played scenarios and received decisives at 6:1 and draws at 2:1.

Are the victory levels defined anywhere and are there special conditions that I am not aware of?

As I recall, it depends on if you are playing against a live opponent or the AI. Your ratios are right for live games. For AI games it is 3:1 for a marginal victory and 10:1 for a decisive.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you didn't plan your mission properly.

IIRC, victory conditions also depend on the type of engagement.
They struggled with a ferocity that was to be expected of brave men fighting with forlorn hope against an enemy who had the advantage of position......knowing that courage was the one thing that would save them.
