Editing animations.

Post by BleedGreenRyder »

David I am so excited to play your game. I love canadian football Its the best pro sport!
[:D]
But i wonder if it could be possible to edit the player animations?
-such as running
-catching a ball
-handoffs
-passes
-blocks
-etc etc etc
-Because if it was possible it might just be possible for someone to get pro football players to do the animation with motion capture. that would be amazing.
To play a canadian rules football game where the players play like the CFL!

Thanks for your interest. It is not possible to edit any of the 3D player meshes or their animations.

Motion capture is expensive, and that is why David has not used it for Maximum-Football.

From what I have been told, the player animations are fluid and look pretty good with high rez and light shadows. It should look much better than FBPro but not as nice as Madden.

The ability to edit uniforms and helmets for leagues will be really nice.

I think it's actually cheaper to buy the equipment yourself

Well cheaper than buying a brand new car :D

but to actually do the animations yourself is somewhat harder because you would probably need a studio and you would need people to help with some of the motions

The Equipment itself can cost you $10,000 dollars and up but I think if you actually buy the animations from some studio they charge you more than that 10k.

Probably because they use actors and have to pay them as well :D

Motion captures animations from 3rd party sources are rarely suitable. They're often 'complete animations' and what I use are small parts of animations strung together. This allows me to blend animations. Sure you could open the mocap file and edit it, but I don't have any software for that.
