Fear and loathing - Japanese style
.............it was late '39 when I, and two others were approached by the a large fish who suggested a war against Imperialism...... this is our story.
This will be the Japanese thread for the 3x3 PBEM game. The Japanese line up is me; Fabertong, AdmNelsonand Scott1964, and we will all be posting here. We will be discussing tactics, so any of our allied friends can leave now, by any of the exits provided. Everyone else will be welcome. Feel free to comment, scoff, laugh, suggest, or write relevent poetry.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
I, fabertong, am responsible for destroying the Chinese, and teaching the Imperialist British a lesson in Burma and India, or getting my a** kicked in both.
RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
I, AdmNelson will be in charge of the destruction of the American fleet, and being the shield so that the Colonial Powers can be removed and the Empire of Japan can stand upon the top of the mountain and lead the people of Asia to a better enlightment.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
As we wait for the bombs to start falling, a little stategy(a very little stategy). My direct advisary is Tom Hunter, what I know of him is mostly through reading his AAR's. He is very strong on China, which I'm afraid can't be said of me. So any help here is greatly appreciated.
To start with I'ts the old favorites, attack on Yenen and Changsa. I expect Tom to fight a vigorous defense especially at Changsa, so must send enough troops. I'm not sure I'm spelling Changsa correctly, but anyone who has read any of my posts will know I am the worlds worst at spelling, grammer, you name it.
Burma: The swift capture of Mandalay is my Primary objective. To this end I'm sending 1st and 2nd para to Rahaing, in an attempt to cut off retreating British forces. Again Tom is an agressive defender, and if he choses to attack the para's I could end up with a bloody nose right from the off. All of Indochina's air assets are assigned to support Scott's attack on Malaya. After the capture of Burma..................well that's still a long way off, so I'll post more as we go.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
The early morning hours of Dec 7th 1941 saw a new rising run in teh Japanesse Empire. I have taken a broad approarch to my theater of operation. A four pronged attack on DEI. The first will target the Malayan Pennisula north of Singapore, towns of Mersing and Kuchtan are the first targets. Next will be landings in North Borneo, with Brunei, Miri, and Kuching as targets. Eastern Borneo's town of Tarakan will be the site of the largets assault. The 48th Div wil be supports with the Shuzan Nat Gd, 62nd Constr Bn, the 28 special Base force, and finally the 21st Eng RGt. The assault on Tarakan will be helped with a Naval Task force. Finally the last attack with be on Menado. Various naval assets have been sent to their next staging grounds. Happy hunting [:'(][:)][8D]

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
As I was looking out the window watching snow falling on leafless trees I was day dreaming of April and cherry blossoms. The phone rang I could over hear the words TORA TORA TORA. The War has started, air raid at Pearl Harbor and mulitlpe landings in the Philippines.
The KB location and destination will remain secret.
As commander of Philippines assaults, my plan is to capture level 4 air bases at Jolo and Davao to support the landings in Borneo. The carrier Ryujo has also been sent to support the landings in Borneo. The other usual landings in northern areas including Legaspi.
New Guinea-- Waiting and preping, while waiting for more baseforces to arrive in the area.

Sasebo, HQ China/Burma command.
The tension here is palpable. My staff and I have been up most of the night, waiting, hoping and in truth drinking too much saki.
We know our fleet is standing off Pearl Harbour, today will be the day.
Death to the Imperialists, Long live the Emporer, and by the way always lift with your legs not your back.

Sasebo, HQ China/Burma command.
The Fates were not with Japan today.
KB. launched an attack on Pearl Harbor. In fact it launched a total of 8 Zeros, and that was all, many of these brave souls did not return.
Lew (AdmNelson) is looking into why, and I'm sure will post here later(could it be 1.5)
We did hit Houston very hard, but a few transports of ours won't see another day.
Are we downtrodden, no not at all, the very decadence of the Imperialists will bring them to their knees.
Long Live the Emporer, and don't forget to file your tax returns on time.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
Sasebo, HQ China/Burma command.
Today the Emporer forgave the aircrews of KB, for their non appearence over Pearl Habor. Apparently it had been Lt. Fuchida's birthday, they had all had a bit too much to drink, and overslept (in fact, we have no idea why they didn't fly AdmNelson{Lew} had tested the turns setup with good results, so is it a 1.5 problem?). Our Allied advisaries kindly offered a restart(very sporting gesture) but we will not flench from our responsibilities. We will not be bought off with one kind offer against centuries of Imperialism. Besides this should add some real spice to the game.
Long Live the Emporer, and yes, I know my spelling sucks big time.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
Actually, your spelling is fine, except for "Emperor".
We are all dreams of the Giant Space Butterfly.
RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
You know I knew that didn't look right[8|]
RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
As commander Of Nagumo and Lt. Fuchida's I take full responablity over the matter. No sake before the big battle. As for Lt Nagumo and seaman Fuchida, report directively to Imperial Combined Fleets HQ on return to Japan.

RE: Fear and loathing - Japanese style
Is reduction in rank enough? Shouldn't they be invited to commit seppuku?

That would be too honorable.

The Fates were not with Japan today.
KB. launched an attack on Pearl Harbor. In fact it launched a total of 8 Zeros, and that was all, many of these brave souls did not return.
Lew (AdmNelson) is looking into why, and I'm sure will post here later(could it be 1.5)

greetings...
same happend in my 1.5 PBEM game. Only difference was that kates did not launch port attack. Result was similar.
Fortunatly our esteemed opponent agree for restart /it is obvious that there is something wrong with turn 1 attack on PH in 1.5.
Are you planing to restart?

At this point I think we are going to continue and see how it goes. Allied players have offered a restart if we want one.
