Aqustion for the developers...

Post by MagnusN »

Dear Sirs,

Howcome htere is no performance difference between the KV-1 and the KV-1S. The only difference is that KV-1S is slightly more costly to produce. So there is no gain whatsoever to switch heavy tank production to this somewhat "hotter" machine. Please explain your thinking here if you'd like.

Kind regards,

Hard telling now, after a year and a half. The current ratings were partially based on work done by somebody no longer around - Nick Papp. However, a lot of it was not used, and when I finalized the numbers I went through and made changed based on Nick's numbers and other information, including the original ratings.

From what I remember, the KV-1S was designed to be faster than its predecessor, so having it with a defense strength 3 higher than the earlier model was silly, although speed should make it better in some way. What I may do is bump the ratings for attack and defense by 1, assuming that better speed will improve its all around ability. Anybody have any thoughts on this? I am easy.

Thanks for bringing this up, it is a good point.

I think your suggestion sounds like a good idea. I agree that they introduced a stronger engine and also upgraded the gun to the same caliber but with a higher velicity making it possible to penetrate more armor.
