Is the Grant a Lend/Lease tank?

Post by alfmdoncel »

Im playing a 1941 campaign PBEM game as Russian and im now in February 1943. I had noticed through the alt-R reports that the Grant tank arrives at December 1942. I was expecting that it would appear as a Lend/Lease tank (I am not a tank expert, but the name sounds me like an American tank, isnt it?), perhaps instead of Valentine, and hopefully additionally to it. But the only change i have observed is that i now can build myself the Grant tank in my factories. As a matter of fact, i think i prefer my factories producing T-34/43s. I cannot manually change the Valentine to Grant, so, how can i solve the problem??. Maybe waiting.... <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
Thanks in advance

The Grant is a Lend Lease tank, although I am thinking the Stuart was used more than the Grant. I don't know if it is a bug or a weak design issue, but I never realized you could now switch any tank factory to the Grant or other lend lease tanks, or the lend lease tanks to regular output. Anyway, you are right the T34s are much better ratings wise. On the other hand, the Sherman, not as "good" as the T34 overall, was favored by at least one Soviet Guards tank corps, being used right through the end. They objected at first, but once they got used to it they loved it - maybe because it was comfortable?

This is definitely a bug. No Murmansk factory should be controllable by the Soviet player. This is a bug added by accident by Arnaud, because I remember when changing any Murmansk factory was impossible.
