do you use standard scenario such as barbarossa, typhoon etc? If you are using custom scenario you must rename it to standard name. For example obmos and obmos.md(map description file). Then start scenario as typhoon in secure pbem.

Another question. What is the size of your scenario file? if it is more 60.000 bytes - you must load and then save it with editwir.exe to cut some hindering pieces of data from it.

Thanks for your replay Mist. Yes it is an edited game, Mist! Have tried saving it as OBBAG, and OBBAG.MD. This does work to a degree, it asks me for a code, which I give, (two letters), I then send, it then asks for a code from my opponent, he then forwards it back to me. I give the code for access, it says its wrong! I have made only minor adjustments to the mist senario, any further ideas? Thanks again Mist

Do not know exactly what to answer. Since it is one of my custom scenarios, I think I have to fix it myself. I will send fixed version to Loki as soon as possible.

have just found that it is likely a bug present in secure pbem start routine. It asks password for player1 at the beginning. while it should ask password for player2 first.
This explains secure pbem problems. 1st player cant enter his own password and must use the password which 2nd player entered. So, secure pbem may be played only when both players use *the same password*(i've tested it).
This bug is also visible in Uranus scenario where 2nd player starts the game first, but game asks him to enter password for 1st player. I hope it will be easy to fix in the next release.

may be i am stupid, but i think i have an other problem with the pbem game!
i started a pbem-game for the first time
wir 3.101 camp. 41 as german (fist day 22-06-1941)
turing the german orders-phase you are able to save the game with the save-option (did this at slot d) . After i had finished my turn i choosed the combat button to quit my turn and saved it at slot a .
if you start again choosing saved game/pbem game and use the save file from slot d (saved turing pbem game with save option) the file opens and -the date is the same (22-06-1941) but any action you did with the luftwaffe has been erased, not the casualities on the russian side (you can start bombing once again) and air units have taken replacements from the pool.
I think if you want to use (missuse) this option it is possible to upgrade the german airforces to the full strengt at the first day of the campain.

Am i the only one with this problem or am i too green behind my ears.

please answer me!???!

You can't save during secure pbem orders turn. This procedure works incorrectly. You must do your turn without saving <img src="frown.gif" border="0"> It is in the bug list, and will possibly be fixed soon.

I've had this problem before in games where the soviets are supposed to have the 1st turn.
Solved it by having the axis play the first turn but do nothing in it (trust).
Then the soviets attack.
Had to do this in your '44 game and in Ricky's '42 scenerio. In the '42 Stalin Attacks game (against varjager) we allowed the germans to change air status but that was all.

Nick

PS. We have played both your scenerios. Varjager won the '44 game as soviets and the '41 game was a draw.

Thanks for the reply Mist. Will the secure PBEM work on another scenario, IE one which the Axis start as player one? Or is it a general bug? I am looking forward to playing your scanario, it looks good. We have just finished playing an edited version of 41, in which I played a very cautious Axis commander, and managed a victory in 44, after a huge counter attack in the south, involving, The 1st SS Panzer Army! which I had been building since the winter of 41/42. (My 0ld Guard), French Napoloenics being my first love!

thanx for interest to my experimental scenario. WHat edited scenario are you talking about? Is this the same one? If yes, I would be very interested to get detailed information about the gameplay. We are playing this scenario with Josan, but we are only at 13 July'41.
May I contact to you by email, please?

Thanks to Loki, will have a look. Mist the scenario we played was an edited version of 41, and not mist, but will keep you informed of the progress on your scenario as we do battle! Once I have mastered it maybe we could have a game! Have you played empire Napoleon 1813? This could have been the best Napoleonic game ever, but it lacked a two player option, and editor, and as always PC AI lacked any common sense!
