V1.016 AND v1.033 on SAME machine

Post by MikeB »

Ok, I have 3 PBEM in motion.
I have just been informed that the 4 player one...is going to the new version.

Now, the other 2 games are remaining on the old version.
When I click on the CD ...it only allows me to play...not install a 2nd time
on same machine in different directory.

Now what?

I suspect the only option is don't play any new games with the 1.033 patch or play all games with the new patch. The large majority of computer games, perhaps all Window based games of recent years, will only allow one installation. This would be especially true if it writes to the Windows registry which almost all games do.

you can run 2 versions of GGWAW on the same machine by copying all the files to another folder, then only upgrading one of the folders to the latest version.

just remember the Start Menu Shortcuts in Windows will be pointing to the installed folder. you will have to maually create a shortcut to the WaW.exe from the new folder (or just go to new folder and dbl-click WaW.exe)
