1942 Campaign PBEM

Post by Die Kriegerin »

I recently downloaded WIR 3.1 with no apparent bugs until... I tried send my 1942 Campaign (German) by PBEM. After combat, as soon as I clicked off the final tally reports, it switches to the Soviet player turn. I don't have this problem playing "41" or "43". Is anyone else having this problem?

Ho Ho , i just tried the '42 scen as pbem and it does what you said. I've never played an unmodified '42 game so this one is new to me.

To fix it do this.

Go into WiR folder that you want to use for the pbem game (i have a complete wir folder for each seperate game)
Start the editwir.exe programe and you will get a black dos window with a bunch of command lists.
Type in the following. (not the stuff in brackets '()') note that i use upper case but that is not important.

L (for load)
X (for all files)
obfb (the '42 scenerio)
enter ('42 scen now loaded)
S (store)
X (all files)
obfb ('42 scen)
enter ('42 scen now resaved)

Having done this exit the editwir programe using windows 'X' button. Q (for quit) dosnt seem to work.

This enables the '42 campaign for pbem.

All the best

Thanks Lokioftheaesir, 3 minute fix. Another question, do you think your opponent would need to do this also?
