Sorry, boys.

Definitely not a PBY. (And I should know. [;)]) Lacks overhead engine controls, and cross cockpit yoke beam.

Almost certainly a Mossie. A FB model to be precise, because of the spade style joystick instead of the yoke found in the bomber models.

Their is a PBY (or was) in the air Museum in Tilamook Or. Suposadly in Flying condation, and I have sean them in the Air from time time in the NW over the years, though it is a rare sight to be shure.

A bit off-topic, but I wonder how many PBY's are still flying?

The FAA database shows 46 PBY's registered in the US, of which perhaps half seem to be airworthy.

Of course, there are a fair number operating in foreign countries. Canada would probably be near the top of that group.

I think it will be a long time before there are no PBY's flying.

Yeah, they're very long-lived airplanes. The Danish Air Force used PBY's until the late 1970's.

But then, there's still more than a few Dakota's flying as well [:)]

I get a feeling it's a German plane from cockpit window frames...might it be Dornier Do 217 ??
