I suppose the surprise is "off" on first turn, as PH airmen attacked KB. I have allready seen no PH raid with surprise off, but never only a sweep by some Zeroes.

Most Japanese players take Pearl Harbor as a given. So it should be fun to explore the road less travelled.

Now we are entering a what if scenerio........What if the U.S. had spotted KB. Launched an air strike, which stopped KB launching on Pearl.
Now what does Nagumo do?
What would the U.S. with an intact battlefleet...........

Suprise was set to on. I ran a mock turn before ending and sending to the Allied players.
Multiple BBs were sunk with numerous other ships either being sunk or damaged.

We are now in a what if scenario.

Sasebo H.Q. China Burma command.

Day two of the war, and another very interesting day.

More Imperialist territory captured.........
Those Cowardly Allied subs sneaking around and scoring a few hits........
Our brave submariners using stealth and secrecy to sink Allied shipping..........
A large P.T. boat squadron destroyed by our Brave sailors.......
USS Houston using it's dying breath to sink some of our Jolo invasion force...........

and now the really interesting bits

No KB air attack on Pearl...(adnNelson to post later)
No air attack by any of our other Carriers ...(Scott1964 to post later)
......and on to my command
Force Z attacked our invasion fleet at Kuching, I had forseen this move and had many Nells on naval attack at Saigon, but they never attacked, nor did virtually any of my Indochinese air groups, and none of my Chinese( apart from recon).

I rang the commander of the Saigon air groups, who said that Commander Oha had been reading a thrilling passage from Dickens and they just couldn't drag themselves away.
I also spoke to China commander, who said that they had just washed their hair and could't do a thing with it......

As a result all the Chinese air groups have been ordered to shave their heads.....
And I have ordered the airgroups at Camrahn Bay to bomb Saigon and teach those cowards a lesson......(is any one else getting these air anomolies)(sp)

KB not flying for two turns is serious. Generally most second day strikes I have tried as the Japanese player , are cancelled by weather. The decision now is to leave--- if the KB hits PH and the out way fine if not fine. At this point Mindanao is mostly secure. With air bases at both Davao and Jolo should help the DEI commander to secure Tarakan. I have sent a bombardment to Tarakan and it will be supported by the Ryujo. Rabaul assault will start around the 15th when baseforces arrive in the area. A small transport group is now headed towards Baker Island to serve as air patrol base. Tarawa is building and supported.

Philippines-- will be a slow and steady.

In my own command, things are pretty much developing as I expected, However the Chinese (under Toms' leadership) have marched on Canton. He hopes toget me to pull back from H.K., or even hopes to take Canton, but with one full rested division behing a level four fort I am hopefull that I can hold on and then turn the tables on him. I have another division on the way, having releaved it from garrison duty, and when H.K. falls will persue the Evil Chinese back to whence they came. (or I'll lose Canton to a shock attack, bugger).
My Indochinese air assets didn't find Force Z, but did take a bite out of Toms' Burma Evac. plans.

Now the KB finally has flown a mission, it is time sail west and see what is out there. We will be looking for two tubs that go by the names Enterprise and Saratoga( what wierd names for ships ---- Kaga or Akagi those names sound better to the ear). Gearing up for the assault on Rabaul. Tfs to load in 4 days and assault in 10 days. BBs after bombarding Wake will arrive at Truk in two days. That will give Japanese forces in the area 2BBs 4CAs 4CLs 2CVEs and many DDs to support the landings. LBs and fighters will be flown in as necassary. IN the Mindanao area with 4 nell and betty sqs that should take care of most the American ships leaving the Philippines. The American commander has decided to leave combat ships in the Mindanao area to bombard some of the landings. We should be able to sink some of these ships including the Boise. The Houston was sunk last turn and that only leaves the Marblehead and possiblely some Dutch CLs in the area.

I've been scratching my head to try and figure out what the Chinese weakness is..........they have endless troops, the AVG, and land lots of land under stary skies above. However, they, at the start anyway, have no Art, Eng, Tank...........Tom is being aggressive, and I think I need to mass Arty, etc against him.........let's hope I can do this before he kicks my sorry ............

Continueing my assault on Borneo. Hope to have Tarakan this turn and Kuching very soon, with reinforcements to arrive in a few days. In Malaya, more landings in Mersing and Kuantan, and that place up North..[:'(]. Have an air strike force nearby to deter Attack Force Z. [:-]

Sadly, again, Changsha has fallen. I saw this coming, and I'ts my fault. I know Tom would shock attack and yet commited my forces piecemeal. I have decided to punish myself by opening a bottle of really bad wine, and forcing myself to drink it's contents.
Now were will Tom go?
I've decided not to wait for the Mongolian Divs. for garrison duty and split as many of my existing Divs, and get troops to the front.
If I can get Tom to attack a fortified position, or over commit himself............
The Chinese move on Canton will prove deadly for them after H.K. falls, unless Canton falls then it may be deadly for me.

Attack Force Z has been sighted near Kuching. The Imperial Navy has rerouted TF 5 to deal with the nemesis. Soon they will join the others at the bottom of the ocean. We are also pleased with our landings so far in Borneo and Malaya.

Thracian and Thanet won't see many more days.........
Sadly RO-68 has been sunk........

In my theatre of ops.

I belive Hong Kong will fall tommorow, then I'll turn the tables on the Chinese at Canton.
I've assigned Gen. Dohihara to lead the southern strike force which will sone include another Div. arriving from garrison duty in the east. If Yenen doesn't fall in the next two days i fear the northern strike force will get bogged down, as Tom is moving more troops in from the north.
I've rerouted two Mongolian Cav. Divs. to take the northern road above Yenen to see if Tom has left his backdoor open.

In Burma Tom appears to be pulling back. He'll fight at Mandalay, and I suspect he is airlifting in Chinese troops to support, once I get a Baseforce to Rahaeng I'll try to intercept.....
I hope to take Victoria point in the next day or so......
