When you go into your hq (right click on hq) you see your aircrafts (F2). Go to the bombers click on mission, and choose airfield attack, now besides the aicraft on the list there will be an "A" that means that group is on airfield attack. On default on the beginning of a game every fighter bomber and figter is on escort every bomber on ground attack (that means they will fly in the ground support only in the battles, if you want to attack troops yourself do interdiction).

On 41 with axis my tactic would be: go for troop destruction. Encircle soviet units and then attack them for maximum effect. It is much better to have a ruined red army with no objectives captured, then a strong one with Lenningrad in your hands (if you have Moscow and Lenningrad that should be good enough). Beware the blizzards, prepare for it early (no artillery, panzers on the front line, high entrenchment level)! If one of your units is forced to retreat in blizzard it usually lose all(!) panzers and guns showing up for battle...

Thanks! =) i realy needed that now those russian airplane is coming down by the hundreds but i got another question is it better to let your panzer corp run fast ahead with supporting infantry following up ( like historical situation ) but i found out some how my supply for those panzer corp are most of the time 3-5 which is quite low and i was wondering am i doing something wrong? Or should i try and let the panzer and infantry corp fight together? in a continueing line and not have the spearhead killing off pocket of resistance one by one? and another question how do i transfer divisions from OKW and OKH ? and you know those cities that build tanks, airplanes, etc for you? what do they actually do? can u make new divison from the equipment they make or can u only use them for reinforcement, and how do u reinforce a panzer divison with tanks and etc... and one last thing is you can make new division, How? Sorry bout all the question heh i'm a newbie still learning

As a recent newbie, I can empathise with your struggle to come to terms with WIR. It took me hours of reading and watching and thinking before I could even start my own game.

Air Missions and HQ's. Normally, each bomber can be given a specific mission, each turn. You set the mission as decribed by Tom1939 above. However, if the HQ unit moved, or the air unit itself used Air Transfer (that turn), or if the HQ unit itself transferred in or out a land unit, then (as you say) nothing happens when you try and carry out a specific mission. No messages, just nothing happens. Therefore you should always try and remember to run all your specific missions before moving a HQ or transfering any unit, into or out of it.

As for using your Panzers, I am still learning about that myself. The common theme to everybody's advice is to use your Panzers to surround enemy units, how you do it, is up to you. You certainly do not have them moving along at the same pace as the infantry, they should be either regathering their readiness, or searching out and cutting off the enemy form their supply lines.

You can add new Corps, not new divisions, the computer handles adding new divisions (when they become available, accoring to the timeline). You fill up the corps, by TRANSFERRING or RAIL TRANSFERRING, in and out divisions. The same applies to HQ's (incl. OKW and OKH and West and Italian fronts). TRANSFERRING has some distance and readiness restrictions (destination corps must be within, about, four hexes, transfering unit must have 50%+ readiness). RAIL TRANSFERRING is restricted to rail hexes, and having enough rail points. Remember, to do all your wanted air missions before transfering in or out of a HQ.

You can upgrade the type tanks in a tank division (subject to availability in pool) but have to wait for replacements to filter in (determined by replacement level of related HQ) at the start of each turn, to see the numbers of tanks increase.

You can see the available pool of equipment by going to Util - Pools, which will showfirst AFVs available (and the factories producing them if you click on a type) and then Planes, when you right click, or escape. Also, in the bottom left area, it shows squads, AA, AT and artillery. This allows you to review what is available and what is making more, so you can tweak things. You can't do anything with the equipment from here, but if you are looking at air or armor units (battalions/brigades/regt), you can click on the Change button and assign these types from there. Or you can see that you already have 3000 Su76s in the pool (which will happen) and realize you want to assign the factories to something else, so you can see what cities are producing the equipment, but then must go to the map, find the city, and change the factory to something else. I hope this all makes sense.

Rick, it doesnt make any sense at all - spend nights playing games like a kid ( and being over 30 ) and then use best hours at work for posting at this forum, but we will all do this anyway

You have to set the replacement level in the units HQ .
Each time a unit falls below this replacement level it will get replacements(if available) up to the replacement level set by the HQ .
Replacement level of 70 means replacements will be sent in if unit strength falls below 70 percent and enough squads/guns/tanks are in pool .
