First-Time Japanese Player seeks Scenario 15 Allied Opponent [CLOSED]

Post by apbarog »

I am looking for an Allied opponent for Scenario 15. I will generally be able to do 1 turn a day. I will be able to do more than 1 turn quite often though, turning them back quickly. I am in the Eastern time zone in the USA.

My background:

This will be my first game as the Japanese player, and it will be a learning experience. My first turn will take some time, since I obviously have no canned turn. I have played a PBEM game as the Allies, lasting until October 1942, when my opponent's real life interfered. This game was started a week after game's release, and lasted until a few months ago. We upgraded to version 1.1, but no further, so I am aware that a lot has changed since then. I will learn. Things like hex ownership. I'm sure I'll learn some things the hard way, but that's OK.

I am interested in an enjoyable and competitive game. But mostly enjoyable. To me, winning this game is one goal but playing this game is more important. I do not employ tactics that exploit the game, and encourage discussion of these things during the game. An example of this is the night bombing in the older versions of the game. My opponent and I discussed this quite often, whether we should allow it or not. This discussion helps the enjoyment of the game. As the Japanese player, I will not attack Russia. Notice that my preferences below are for a historical start. I will not come looking for your CV's at game start. I am not going to "house rule" China, but I will say that I would rather it not be a decisive theater.

I follow this forum daily but post rarely, mainly for questions.

My game preferences are as follows:

Sub Doctrines Off
FOW On
Weather On
Allied Damage Control On
Historical 1st turn On
Vary Setup Off
7 Dec. Surprise On
Reinforcements Extremely Variable

Game Options
Combat Reports On
Auto Sub OPs Off
Set all facilities to expand Off
Auto upgrade Off
Player Defined Upgrades On
Accept Air and Ground Replacements Off
Turn cycle 1

I'm open to your ideas on the preferences though.

HI ya![:D] I may give it a go, sounds good too me. I have played 4 pbem games but none going now.

Normally one turn a day is ok, sometimes more if nothing going on for myself and my family.

I am central standard time. Don't know if that will be a problem for you. So let me know.[:D]

Also the same as your self, the playing is more important than the winning.[:D] Sent you a e-mail.
