Turn base question

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

Turn base question

Post by general billy »

Hi,
Ive been planning to get KP for a long time, with the release of BIN and BII im was thinking wheather I would get into the gaming system.
I Just wanted to confirm, if this game is like 'I move then computer move', or do the battles take place at the same time.. because if its 'I move then computer moves' it just doesnt feel right because real wars or battles are not fought like that... its like telling the enemy... hey I need to move first and you wait.... I know that Korsun Pocket have great reviews and I dont doubt it... but why make games like this if its true... couldnt they have a system like WitP where both parties process the turns and you u get a report for the turn its more realistic I feel

Thanks

Bill

There's a pretty good thread in the Combined Arms forum that discusses this point.

I highly recommend the series and wouldn't let IGO-UGO vs. WEGO be your deciding factor. KP/BIN/BII are IGO-UGO... Whilst I personally prefer WEGO in general, the Decisive Battles series plays out quite well. This series plays out better than the old WEGO W@W games (which I liked a lot).

BIN and BII are significantly better than KP in most folks humble opinions (the game engines are vastly improved). Still, the KP campaign and ATD are very good though scenarios (and not otherwise available)...

If your budget can afford one or more I say give 'em a try!!!
