Game won't start!!

Even though I have had the game for 2 weeks, I have yet to play it because it won't start! When I click on "Play" on the main menu, the hard drive churns for a while and ultimately an error message comes up that says "WaW executable has encountered a problem and needs to close". I have only 256 MB of RAM and will be upgrading shortly, but I know that others play with this amount. In any event, I didn't think the low ram would keep the game from starting completely. Please help!!

Two things jumped out at me looking at your dxdiag. First, your virtual memory is set for 430 MB. It's good to have it set for 1500 MB. Second, your graphics memory is listed as n/a. I'm not familiar with the card listed so I don't know if this could be a problem. The game requires at least a 32 MB graphics card. Someone more technically able may be able to point out other things that could be causing you a problem.

I agree with Joel's comments. Not sure why your video card is not reporting memory, but I would double-check that, perhaps try a few different driver revisions (you're using the Omega drivers, you coiuld try other revs of those or of the stock ATI). Extra memory would help speed up the game, but it should load on a 256Mb system with enough virtual memory, so I'd guess a video issue. Your sound drivers are also a bit old, worth checking if there are updates for those as well.

Thanks. I just purchased a 32MB video card (I realized I only had 16MB in there before), increased the virtual memory and ran the diagnostic again. It seems that the card is still not reporting memory, even though I know it is 32MB. I also re-installed the ATI drivers, and I am still having the same issue - no game. Any other suggestions? Should I re-upload the diagnostic text file? Thanks!
