Capturing vs. Self-Destruct

Post by BP »

I was just brushing up on this in the manual and it said that you can capture an enemy ship with a successful assault pod attack. A bit later it said that your ships will self-destruct before falling into enemy hands. Does this mean human player can take enemy ships but never the reverse? Hardly seems fair...

Hum, i think it means as follow:

- A ship with the Self-destruct mechanism has a 90% chance of exploding if taken over by the attacker's pod. So that it doesn't fall into the enemy's hand.
- If the attacker has the bomb disposal mechanism and the defender has the self-destruct mechanism, THEN this chance falls to 50%.
- This is good for both you and the computer

Thanks Max, that makes more sense. It doesn't explain it in quite that detail in the manual.

Oops, my mistake. If you keep reading it comes back to assault pods about 20 pages later and explains this. Very meandering...
