Problem running 4.5.0

Just got the full version of the game (about time I bought it, been following on and off for about 4 years...), and immediately patched up to 4.5.0. But when I try to run it, I get an error, something along the lines of "cannot allocate enough memory". I do not get this error when running 4.0.3.

I realize that 4.5.0 requires a video card capable of doing hardware transforms and lighting, but I was under the impression that my Radeon 9500 Pro was up to that... I tried redownloading and reinstalling, but that didn't help any.

Does anyone know if this is even the error associated with an incompatible graphics card?

It sounds more like you're lacking system RAM - 256 might not be enough?

You may also want to check your version of DirectX, the latest version is 9.0c yours seems to be an earlier version.

Upgrading DirectX did it, thanks! Didn't know there was another one out, haven't gotten any games new enough to need it...

I've just had time to flip through the menus and tac displays, but this looks so much better now!
