Hey, are there any demos of Matrix Games that I could begin with? It would be nice to try them first.

Steel Panthers is a very good start for tactical wargaming. The graphics are dated but the gameplay rules.

For operational wargaming you might want to check out the "Battles in Normandy" demo.

Shucks, I'm not having good luck... It is very difficult to download the game, since theres much waiting in being at the line, and other sites won't download... could a friendly soul send it to me in Messenger? Anyhow, I'll still try to download it from the sites. And I'll try the Battles in Normandy you suggested

True, the Airborne Assault engine has come a long way since RDOA (and will be features galore with the upcoming COTA!), but the gameplay of the RDOA engine will give you a pretty good introduction into the AA engine. One of my personal favourites
