Pre-order question

Post by Scotbot »

Hiya,

I"m thinking of pre-ordering the game, cause it looks so cool! :) I do have a couple of questions before I do, however:

1) If I pre-order, am I going to get the game before the local hobby store does? I'd rather not pay the shipping if I can just go down the street and get it the same day (or earlier) than I would in the mail. I'm located on the East Coast of the USA.

2) is the pre-order price cheaper than it will be once the game is released? Cheap enough to compensate for the pre-order shipping cost, rather than waiting for the game to appear in hobby stores? (the game IS going to appear in hobby stores, right?)

I"m definately going to be picking up the game, but the budget is tight and would like to save a few bucks.

Thanks!

Hy,

you should have it earlier then the local hobby shop. Preorders are planned to go out first of course. Yes, the preorder price is cheaper.

I'm ready to pre-order a copy too. I've got the annual gathering of my old wargaming buddies coming up July 9th and was wondering if I pre-order it, will I get it by then?

Like a kid at Christmas, the closer the date gets, the harder it is for me to wait. Of course it will be well worth it. [8D]

Hi all,
I pre-ordered the game some days ago: is the production right on schedule? Can we expect to see it shipped in July? (First half/second half)

Please, to Mark or Matrix staff, can you make some posts during these days to update the current status, just to let us know if everything is proceeding well?

Thank you.

Did you noticed I cant really wait for this game? [:)]

(Needless to say, this game looks great)

As often happens, we did hit a few snags along the way that were printer-related. We've been working through those. We should have demo copies at Origins but may not have stock ready yet by that time. For a July 9th gathering it's going to be tight and I'm not sure I can promise that yet. As soon as I know for sure when we will ship, I will post it here.

We are definitely aiming to ship out pre-orders in the first half of July, production is well underway and only a few components have been slowed down (and thus slowed down the package a bit). Updates as soon as we have them.

Regards,

- Erik

Thanks for the info, Erik. What the heck, I think I'll go ahead and pre-order it anyway. I already know I want this game, and it MIGHT get here in time for my annual wargaming vacation, right? [:D]

Okay, I just pre-ordered it. I even coughed up $17.45 for overnight shipping to increase the probability of receiving it in time. Here's hopin'....[:)]

Oh! "Release Date : July 30, 2005", for a moment I was scared, I thought it applied also for the pre-orders.. instead, maybe that date is for normal retail only. Please tell me I'm right.

Any word on shipping date? I'm wanting to order, but I'm trying to time it right with a busy summer...

Hi Guys,

At this point, it is in the printer's hands. It looks like the first week in August. Perhaps one or two days earlier. Understand, however, that is what we are being told. Strange stuff can happen at the printers.

Looking forward to playing the game.

Yeah, me too! Just kidding...

As many of you know, we did have a pre-pub copy at Origins, but I really didn't get much of a chance to play it, I was spending most of my time teaching other people to play it. But hey, that's fun too.

Is there any new info or more up to date info on the ship date? I am an ASL "collector" who is really looking forward to a WWII era game to introduce my son (14) to the hobby and this "seems" to be a less rule intensive way to do it. But the original question, still on target for July 30 ?

Hi Pal,

Really, this is a Matrix question. The last I heard, which was about two days ago, we were still striving to have the game delivered to WBC on Tuesday.

Yep, I'll be there with BoH and also playtesting a couple of my ACG games that Matrix might be publishing. I'll also have a copy of Aftermath with me.
