Gone Gold! (Screenshots)

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Watching these beautiful scans a question arises. How do you resolve minor battles in mulitplayer (I mean battles to be fought by one side only, hpoing thw player will do better, than the AI)? Or do you play the grand strat map and battles are fought by autoresolve?

In general, in all game modes very small battles are fought through the quick battle system (similar to the naval combat). Medium and larger battles give you a choice of quick or detailed.

In TCP/IP play, the same applies so you can fight a detailed battle out against an opponent.

In PBEM, due to the structure of that type of play and the design of the game, all battles are resolved with the quick battle system.

Bad wording my mistake. Whta happnes if my opponent wants to fight a battle and I dont want to do it personnally. Will he fight against the AI? What do the other players do during this time?

Ah--you can tell the game to fight your battle for you, and watch the resolution. Last time I checked, everyone gets to watch in multiplayer.

Erik
I have never purchased a game through digital download ...

Can you explain what you do step by step?

Also, when I receive the download ... will I be able to burn it to a CD? What is the download size?

If I burn it to a CD, can I take the CD to Kinko's to print off the manual?

Thanks

Thanks

Wayne,

Please check out the "When can we order" thread where I compiled answers to those questions. The process itself is simple - you tell the store what you want to buy, choose your payment type and a big link appears. Click on the link and your download begins (or right click on it and save target as to choose where to put it).

You can re-download within 30 days of purchase and it can absolutely be burned to a CD for backup (we advise that, in fact).

The manual can be printed affordably at Kinko's as long as you don't print it in color. It is also a fully searchable E-book PDF which makes referencing it on your computer very handy too.

Regards,

- Erik

I have a question that hopefully hasn't been asked and answered before. If you're in a detailed battle, is it possible to fortify your troops (apart from fortified bastions) in the field? If so, how? Field fortifications would help immensely. Just a thought.

Mack must have been in charge.[:D] Maybe the loser was surrounded and surrendered. I noticed a couple of small battles where the winner had 0 casualties. Must be some special circumstances or something.

I don't believe there are field fortifications (i.e. constructed during the battle). A province's "walls" rating helps the defender in creating some fortifications and these can also have garrisons apart from your mobile army/corps. With that said, units that stay in position should generally have higher morale and lower fatigue than those that are marching around and getting hit with cannon fire on the way in.
