No Lend lease supply from WA

Post by alfredtc »

After patch to 1.040 play as USSR against AI at Challenging level,
German invade me at Spring 42. It is now Winter 44 I still doesn't
receive any lend lease convoy from WA. Is this normal?
( I held both Archangel & Leningrad from beginning to now)

Yes, the WA is play by AI. At normal level I receive 40 to 80 supply point per turn.

Actually for me, as of the 1.04 patch, I have yet to have the WA give supply to Russia in any game, normal, hard, whatever. I'm getting the feeling something got broke :)

Without the WA's supply my tank army was bog down even the German withdraw back to

I've been thinking the same thing too. That it got broke after patching. When I first started playing, I think 1.016. The allies always keep putting transports up in the Barents and Norwegian seas. Russia got its much needed supply but the allies keep losing their transorts. But I'm sure they felt it was worth it. Now, I never see that anymore. Not once since the newer patches has a transport gone to the Barents sea!!?? I've been thinking that maybe it has stopped because my style of play has changed. At first I left my subs out at sea but now I always stick and move back to port. Do you think that may be why the Allies have givin up lend lease to Russia? Have you guys noticed something similar after you got more experienced? I think this needs to be looked into by Matrix. The allies should still send transorts up there even if they will lose them. After all, the allied AI might as well get some productive use out of them before they get sunk. As it stands now, they just put them into places in the atlantic for no purpose just to get sunk anyway. Might as well go to the Barents to get sunk, don't you think?

PS I've been playing with advanced supply off until yesterday. So my odservations are for the simpler supply. Maybe the AI will play differently next time I play with advanced on. But I still think that Matrix should still fix it, even if, the problem only occurs with advanced off.

Keep an eye on this. I don't know of anything done in 1.040 that would have changed the WA interest in Lend Leasing to the Soviets. In fact, I thought all the AI changes were made by 1.033. I've sent a note to Gary to let him know about your concern in case he can think of something that might have caused this. If you have a situation where it seems obvious that Lend Lease should be happening, you can send a series of saves to 2by3@2by3games.com and we'll take a look at it.

I just finished off three games as the USSR vs AI everything else. At no time did I receive any supply from WA, in spite of controlling Persia, Murmansk, Finland, Sweden, and Norway.

The WA did establish a convoy route to my ports but never sent any supply, even though I was down to about 20 supply and the WA has 200+ supply.

In my lastest game as japanese I did notice a convoy route established and maintained by the allies to the SU. Germans have been raiding the routes and doing damage.

I have no idea if they are delivering supplies, and if they are not, then they are seriously wasting there time and transports up there for nothing.

We got the saves and I sent them on to Gary. It did look from the saves like there could be a problem here, although the AI never sent supplies if it thought Russia had enough. I ran some tests on the save by lowering Russian supplies and even though there was a convoy link, I didn't see supplies being sent. I know this used to work, so unless there's something going wrong in specific circumstances, I can only guess that a bug was added in one of the patches that stopped the lend lease. We'll look at this for a future fix.

In my latest Soviet game vs the AI I did receive lend lease from the WA, which surprised the hell out of me because I didn't think I was doing anything different - I had about the same level of supplies available as the last games.

Received 54, then 28, then 24 through Persia starting early 43.
