Strat move across Greenland

Post by JanSorensen »

I can see that its possible to strat move from North Atlantic 1 to North Atlantic 8 going through Greenland.

Now I have to ask - just how many teams of husky dogs are the locals expected to provide for this miracle to happen? :)

Bug or intended?

lol

I think I've noticed the same thing happening with sumatra, despite no railroads in either of these locations.

Since noone has said otherwise I will assume everyone else including the dev team is fine with this.

Its still odd to me though - but I shall accept it :)

This sort of thing happens to Japan too, and other strange movements have been seen :)
I think it's kinda minor, overall, so the developers aren't rushing to fix it. [>:]

It seems pretty central to gameplay to me. It means you can link the UK to the US with 3 rather than 4 zones. If they later change/fix it much play balance about the Atlantic war will go right out the window.

If its intended then just let us know - and we will call it a feature.

I wish I could remember for sure. I seem to recall discussions about this during development but I don't remember what the final decision was or why. It may easily have been one of those issues that we felt we had to live with in order to get certain desired results (like strategic movement invasions that were allowed to keep going using the same unit) even though we didn't like other results (like the one you mention re Greenland). I suggest you accept it as working as designed. No doubt it would take a significant code change to limit this capability, something that would be far down on our priority list.

Thanks Joel

That works for me. I was just worried that all play testing and strategy planning would suddenly be void if this was fixed. I can easily accept the oddity as long as its there to stay.
