Unit stack movement.

Post by Doobious »

I was playing and I must have hit some button....

All of a sudden when I attempted to move units, the game was moving entire stacks of that unit instead of individually. This would be a real useful feature, but I couldn't figure out how to move them individually once more, so i had to save and quit out.

I looked in the manual to no avail. Anyone know what key I hit? Was it a bug?

Thanks!

It is a feature to move a whole stack at a time. When you click on a unit to move it, a little side bar comes up on the right side of the screen. The top arrow is green for tac movement, the blue arrow is for strat movement, and right below that is an icon that looks like a stack of green coins. That button is what toggles the function of moving units individually versus the whole stack. I frequently hit it by mistake when I am attempting to click on the blue arrow for srtat movement.

I like the way the "Stack Movement" button stays selected when most of the time I only wish to perform that operations once, and conversely the "Strategic Movement" button must be pressed before each use when most of the time I need that mode to move a succession of units :)

And is it just me, or is there no visual indication whether stack movement is currently active or not?

I do believe holding the left shift key will move a stack and holding the left control key will cause Strat movement. I use them often.

Really? That is very useful.

Is there a list of the hotkeys for this game somewhere? [&o]
