Help with Fred's map editor

I'm trying to take a 39x99 map and paste in onto a 100x100 or 100x120 map so it will be on the right side. I go through all the steps up to copy to clipboard, etc., but when I try to paste I get an error message saying the clipboard data is invalid. Yes, I set the SHP file. What gives with this? Anybody got an answer?
Retreat is NOT an option.

I hit that problem several times so I just save the bit to a file instead of the clipboard.

Saving to a file didn't work, but I found I could save 1/2 the map to the clipboard at a time and got it done that way. Thanks for the suggestion, however.
Retreat is NOT an option.

Try different paste numbers (odd numbers), IE instead of 39/99, try 40/100 or 38/98. Freds MapEd is a bit sensitive in this regard.
