Tact Battles

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

atm you can auto resolve which will have the computer finish the battle for you.

But even autoresolve is not instant. That's one of my concern. (because large tact. battle can be very loong !!!)

You are correct. The only suggestion is to simply use the Quick Combat to resolve large battles.

Or just don't start a tactical battle unless you know you have enough time to finish it.....

Sure, but I don't see that as a good decision by the developers. This is an entertainment product, and thus is going to have to take a back seat to various other life realities at times. If I'm playing the game and get paged and have to go to work, I shouldn't be forced to tell my family, "don't touch the computer for 20 minutes - the tactical battle in Linz has to play out." Then, because you cannot reliably alt-tab, the game still has to be saved.

And I timed one battle last night - once I hit "q" to auto-resolve a large tactical battle in Detailed mode, it took the computer 20 minutes to finish it.

Yeah, I see your point. Damned Real Life! It sure interferes with one's gaming time! [:D]

This is sort of what I raised in the "UP/DOWN" problem post. Mixing grand tactical with strategic is more than a coding problem, it's a game flow and life problem.

Still, a "save game" feature in the tactical module doesn't strike me as an unreasonable request.

I imagine we will have to wait for the developers to emerge from a well-deserved five-day bender/sleep before hearing about patch stuff, tho.

Best,

Lol now that's a fine day when developers have to start coding around peoples "jobs" and life habits, haha. But, I'll side with you guys out of respect for your having to work and play with the kiddies and mama and request a save game feature for tactical battles as well. ;)
WE/I WANT 1:1 or something even 1:2 death animations in the KOIOS PANZER COMMAND SERIES don't forget Erik! ;) and Floating Paratroopers We grew up with Minor, Marginal and Decisive victories why rock the boat with Marginal, Decisive and Legendary?
